  1. Hi Roy, I don't have Frankfurt so I can't comment on that one. I do note your comment though "The conflict at the ramp exits and entries have to be realized way ahead of time in order to avoid ground collisions" Do you use the hold instructions? I find they work really well. I tend to issue them as a matter of course, for instance I enjoy KSFO so if I issue a "fat heavy bird" to go to 28L/R I will give it the hold at 1/L & hold at 1R before it leaves the gate. That way I know I don't have to monitor its progress too closely. Then again I may be telling you what you already know.... :) Graham
  2. No problem, pretty hard to work that one without a chart. I could scan my copy when I get home, not sure if that is contrary to forum rules though....
  3. Hi PDX, See if you can get any joy out of this link:- http://avherald.com/h?article=441e2751&opt=1 Graham
  4. Hi Roy, Hope you are feeling better after your surgery. I remember encountering that problem too. I don't have 10 at KATL open any more for arrivals. One thing to get around it would be to get on to them early enough and change them (enter final 6L or 9R?) to one of your other arriving runways. Don't forget to issue a cleared to land instruction though or they will just keep on going..... Also I think some users have changed the rollout length for the 747 in the plane editor but I don't go messing about in there (yet). A fun airport KATL, looks great when you can get all the ground movements on their way in an orderly fashion. Graham
  5. Hi Roy & Kev, Also some info in this post http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76410-tower-2011-kmia-08r-issues/ which covers the history of the issue and a few more hints. Also remember to back up your file before you start Roy just in case it doesn't work as intended. Graham
  6. Hi All, I'm ok with steam. I use it for one sim only but I find the advantage of getting the latest downloads automatically is very useful. Graham
  7. Hi Johnwy, The plane file for your second point can also be changed I believe, not sure as I haven't done this myself. As for your example about approaching 22L what I would do is give it "Enter Final Runway 13R" as soon as you are aware. (Not forgetting the "clear to land" when appropriate to do so). This is frought with danger however as you will still be receiving your other planes as normal for 13R. If any of them do appear and look like they will conflict with your 747 give them an immediate heading away from danger and then "Contact Departure". They will eventually turn up again the same as a missed approach will. Did you try an "Enter Final Runway 22R" even though you didn't have it open for arrivals? I seem to recall I did this at DFW when they get stuck on 17C, I switched them to 17R. If you give your 747 a go around and hand back to departure it will be handed back for the same runway. (ie 22L) so you will still have the same problem until it lands. Good Luck! Graham
  8. Hi Arsonman35, You should still have other airports available to you. Off memory the default package came with LAX, MIA & LAS. Put your slider all the way to the right and see if that makes any difference, St Thomas is a very quiet airport. I think off memory (has it been 4 years already?) the busiest hour still only gives you about 8 planes. Hence the reason it is a good one for practice. Stick with it, I think it (& Tracon 2012) are great packages. Let us know if you still have issues. Graham
  9. Hi Arsonman35, Do you have real traffic installed? I don't think it works with St Thomas (I may be wrong on that) Did you try any other airports? It sounds like Tower is working ok as you can hear the seagulls etc. the problem is getting the planes to turn up. Graham
  10. Hi Dana, First you must initiate the handoff by left clicking on the target once. It will then start to flash and hold a C in its datatag. (This would make the aircraft flash on the Centre's scope the same way they do it when handing off to you). Once it has been accepted by centre then go ahead and give the frequency change. See how that goes. Graham
  11. Nice find Andrew. I normally try and operate on westerlies, great when you get them all travelling smoothly. Interestingly I use as described above, that is for arrivals on 27L P or T - L / arrivals on 26R B-V-F (heart has been in throat a few times with cargoes sometimes doing the unexpected). Also watch for the short stoppers using C to exit. I move the deartures via E for 26L & M for 27R, seems to go ok. My next challenge is to try and sort them north or south departing dependant on destination but I don't think that will happen any time soon. Graham
  12. Hi Paul, I don't have Frankfurt but it sounds similar to MIA when it first came out. For the single digit runways try "zero" before the number. EG Seagull 246 taxi to runway zero seven right. May not make any difference but worth a try. Graham
  13. Hi Steve, Something else to bear in mind too is that it won't like "one thirty-three point niner" - try "one three three point niner" Graham
  14. Hi Dick, Gave the Tracon Creator a go for the first time, worked exactly as per instructions. Again thank you for your time and effort in providing these tools. Graham
  15. Hi Guys, I think what happens here is that when you issue follow company the plane following only sees the plane it is following. Therefore if anything gets between the two the one behind cannot see it and just barrels over it. I personally haven't used it for some time but if you are testing try it without any other plane getting between the two company planes and see if it works. Graham
  16. I had another look at this. For anyone else wondering, the altitudes shown on the charts are minimums. Have a look for the crossing altitudes and work backwards from there to the beginning of the STAR. Graham
  17. Hi All, I'm curious to know what altitudes you edited into your STARs. I had a look at some charts on the net and they appear to read the same as the default in game. Surely that cannot be right (I know, don't call me Shirley....). I really can't imagine getting away with planes coming into JFK levelling off at 2,000 over LGA, sounds like trouble to me but that is what the chart said that I saw. I may keep searching and see if there is anything else. Graham
  18. Hi Dick, I delved nervously into the world of schedule creator recently and using it as per the step by step instructions worked a treat. Thank you for the time and effort you have taken not only for schedule creators, but also the trafiic PDF's. Graham
  19. Hi Ampfing, I'm not sure about your issues with runways 8L&R, I have never noticed that. I seem to recall there was a fix for that. The developers would probably be better suited to answer that. As for your active runways, when you select your runway(s) at the start of a session, that will determine arrivals only. You can then use any runway of your choice for departures. eg If you want arrivals on 27 and departures 30, simply select 27 at the start only and give departing aircraft taxi to 30. As for heavy planes coming on on 26L&R, get onto them early and give them "enter final runway 27". Once they have acknowledged change of runway be sure to give them landing clearance otherwise they will go around. Think of it as an approach controller's error in giving them an incorrect runway. Graham
  20. Hi Shawn, Just a thought but can you see file extensions when you are in explorer? It seems Windows defaults these off. If you cannot see them you may be just changing the file name and not the type in which case it will not work. I am at work at present and unable to tell you where to turn them on but if I recall it is in the control panel somewhere. Graham
  21. Hi Dick, I think they were talking pure "add on" sectors, whereas LAX,LAS & MIA came with the sim. Also the LOndon one has now been released as one big sector with the five airports as Vic mentioned. Graham
  22. Glad to hear it worked out for you, I was wondering if I explained it very well when I went back and read it. Great little game/sim isn't it? Graham
  23. Hi Blaker35, Your second issue is because taxiway EH is not at the end of the runway. Try issuing to 17R via L only OR Taxi to runway 17R AT EH via L EH. What is happening is you are giving it a taxiway before the end of the runway, therefore because you have given it to the complete runway the only way to line up is to taxi a little down and turn around, make sense? With your first issue, this is known. Because the taxiways are so complex it takes a little while for the AI to figure out. Sometimes they don't move at all. I like to incorporate it into the game "aircraft unable to move for unknown reasons". Try working around it and see how your workload goes. Graham
  24. Hi Dick, I am one of the many who have found these graphs invaluable, great work! I am yet to dabble in the world of schedule creator(s) though...... Thanks for taking the time and effort. Graham
  25. Hi Dennis, Mine sometimes throws a little wobbly from time to time also, however I'm not sure if it is the same as you describe. If it is, all I do is click on any of the flight strips once (so that the id appears in your window) and simply press enter after it. All is then returned to normal. Graham
