FSUIPC Install problems, please help.
Ian P replied to Tom Benson's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Hello, Just press "cancel" on the registration screen.. Cheers, Ian P. -
Excuse me interrupting slightly, but have you checked that there are no patches or additional files, by logging into your simMarket account and going to the order or downloads sections? I don't have this specific package and, as a result, can't say whether it is the case here, but the most common resolution to non-updated packages is downloading and running the later version download which is also available, so it's always worth a look that there isn't one there. Cheers, Ian P.

Sorry, yes. It needs read and write to the FS directory and Flight Simulator Files, I believe. It's described right at the end of the manual. You also need to do something specific (copying a file, I forget exactly which one, but it's probably the scenery library database) to allow it to scan for airports. The documentation does explain how to set it up and prove that it works. Cheers, Ian P.

Just to let you know, FSCommander definitely does use WideFS, Pete. Ian P.

There's a reverse tickbox in the calibrations page, if I remember correctly from memory (I'm on my notebook, not my desktop with FSUIPC on it!) Ian P.

Wondering if FSUIPC installed into P3D v2.1.1 correctly
Ian P replied to Paul K's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Paul, The uninstallation routine for P3D v1.4 didn't remove a significant amount of the sim - especially registry entries - on my PC. I had to spend some time removing all traces manually before I was able to successfully install P3Dv2. I believe a lot of other people fell foul of this, too. Ian P. -
Hello Jonny. I'm not Pete, but can help sooner. If you log in to your simMarket account that you used to buy the licence(s) and open the FSUIPC order, you will find the details there. Copy and paste them directly from the simMarket page to your FSUIPC registration window to avoid errors! Cheers, Ian P.
-
Hello, Log into your simMarket account and copy and paste the information directly from your registration details there into the installer. It's very easy to make transposition errors when typing them in, or to miss out a middle initial that you used when registering, etc. Therefore, please try copying pasting to confirm that you aren't doing that before anything else. Also, be careful that you aren't trying to use your FSUIPC3 order details in FSUIPC4... A lot of people have tried that one, too! Cheers, Ian P.

Hello again, Well FSUIPC is definitely running - there are no errors there at all. Unfortunately Pete is away at the moment - he's back tomorrow, I believe. The only other things I can suggest in his absence are working through the WideFS setup from the FSUIPC documentation and checking that everything is correct. The last time I lost WideFS connectivity, it turned out that the IP address of my FS (WideFS server) desktop PC had been changed and that had caused the system to stop working. The other file that's useful for diagnostic purposes is FSUIPC4.ini, which Pete may well ask for the contents of. Cheers, Ian P.

Hi Daren, If you look in FSX/modules, is a new FSUIPC4.log being created when you run FSX? If so, can you post its contents please, following a short flight and closing the sim normally? Also, what version of Windows are you running? Cheers, Ian P. (ex-Wombourne-ite)

The USB version of the pro pedals does not have a switch and works fine simultaneously as rudder and toe brakes. I used it like that for years before switching to Saitek pedals. If you go into Windows game controller settings are the toe brakes and rudder all working and visible? I know that on two sets of the three CH pedals that I had, poor internal wiring caused the wires to get snapped and the toe brakes to stop working - which is why I now have Saitek pedals, but that's incidental. What's important is to check whether Windows can see all three axis moving. Ian P.

Using UDP between FSUIPC and Control Loading system
Ian P replied to jpostma's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Moved to FSUIPC Support forum from Flight Sim Beginners. Ian P. -
There are two usual reasons that FSUIPC fails to register; almost always it's because there's an error in what you are typing - can you copy and paste from your simMarket purchase details, to make sure, please? The other, far less usual, one is that the clock on your computer says that it is earlier than the registration date. Can you confirm those two, please? Cheers, Ian P.

Hello Steve, FSUIPC4 (for FSX) is a major software change compared to FSUIPC3 (for FS9), therefore a separate FSUIPC4 license is required to be purchased. As with your version 3 key, the version 4 key is valid for all 4.xxx versions of the package. Best regards, ian P.

Hi, Go to your account at simMarket and copy and paste exactly the information in your order details into the registration window. It's very easy to make a typo, or forget an initial or something, so copying and pasting fixes 99.9% of these problems! All the best, Ian P.

If it works in FSX, can you try copying the license file from FSX modules to P3Dv2 modules? Presuming that both are correctly licensed in FSX, then the license file should allow them to be accepted in P3Dv2 as well. Cheers, Ian P.

Hello, As per the e-mail: "When status shows delivered, check your order history online to download files and take note of registration keys." You need to log into your simMarket account and check "My Orders" to find the information. (Google translate, sorry...!) -- Merhaba, "Durum gösterileri teslim olduğunda, dosyaları indirmek ve kayıt anahtarları not almak için online sipariş geçmişini kontrol.": E-mail başına Sen simMarket hesabınıza giriş yapın ve bilgi bulmak için "My Orders" kontrol etmek gerekir.

Try searching for and renaming FSX.cfg to FSX.old. Allow FSX to build a replacement file by running the sim and see if the problem goes away. That would be my next step. Cheers, Ian P.

Hi Keith. With the FSUIPC question answered, we might want to move this discussion somewhere else on the forum but, provided Pete doesn't object, we can continue here. I don't think, from what you've said here, that you have already purchased a flight simulator package - only FS Flying School. Would that be correct? If so, the product currently only appears to be compatible with Prepar3D version 1.4, which has been replaced by 2.0 with a significant number of changes which may prevent FS Flying School running properly. I strongly suspect that they will be making it work very quickly if it does not already. You will need that installed, then FSUIPC4.923 (or later), then FS Flying School, preferably in that order. Although P3D is expensive - the US$200 "Professional" option is the one you'll need unless you are student - that's around two hours of flying time in most countries I know of and it can save you a lot more than that if used properly! P3Dv2 is, from my experience with it so far, a significantly improved training environment when compared to FS9, FSX or P3Dv1.4. The other add-on I would recommend is also not directly supported by P3Dv2 yet, but will hopefully be soon, and teaches a number of good habits. It's additional expense, but I would really suggest looking at A2A's C172 Trainer package (http://secure.simmarket.com/a2a-simulations-accu-sim-c172-trainer-%28incl-accusim%29.phtml or http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=56), which forces you gently into doing a walk around and not abusing your aircraft. Again, I hope that helps. Ian P.

Hi KSW, if you look at the FS Flying School web page, you will see that the package is for "X-Plane", "FS9", "FS9" and "P3D" - those being different simulators; X-Plane is a standalone sim which is only related to itself. FS9 is also known as FS2004 but is a Microsoft Flight Simulator, unsurprisingly, from 2004. FSX ("FS10") is the follow on to that. It all gets very convoluted at this point but Lockheed-Martin's Prepar3D is a development of FSX, which no longer has any relationship with Microsoft, other than needing Windows to run. FSUIPC works on FS9/FS2004 (FSUIPC3) and FSX/P3D v1.4/P3D v2 (FSUIPC4). As Pete says, all you need is the latest current version of FSUIPC4, in order for FS Flying School to work with Prepar3D. I don't think you need a registered version either, just the freely available download. I'll bypass the Schiratti site entirely here and point you to Pete's own "current versions" post, here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/#entry417029 - you need the second download on the list, at the time of writing, FSUIPC version 4.923 full installer. Does that help? Cheers, Ian P.

Sounds like the old USB power problem... Are they both USB sticks and have you turned off power saving in your USB settings? Ian P. -
Problem FSUIPC Microsoft Flight Simulator X
Ian P replied to Pokaimu's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Unfortunately, the OP managed to report this thread to the admin team, rather than reply to the thread, so here's the content of the report... "Dear Pete Thanks so much for your answer. I appreciate it very much. I have the following comments and questions. As o You know I use FSX (newest simulator). Because the Saitek mule panel does not work and because I didn't get any support my last chance.are you and I bought FSUIPC and WIDEFS client. Can you tell me which program I need and what I shall do (new panel from other company ? Which one?) Probably you can help me. Shall I return the Saitek multipanel? Best Regards Zacharie"
