Tower 3D Pro, other countries airports to be released any time soon?
pete_agreatguy replied to MAW's topic in ATC Simulators
You do realise by buying more products, feelthere will not begin development on the next version? I don't get how the current bugs don't get to you? Have you tried eddm or SFO (using 28's for arrivals and 1's for departures? -

How can the new DLC airports be bugfixed when the base game has bugs itself? New DLC are already flawed before they have even reached the design stage; let alone the release stage. -
All the documents linked here have all the answers you require :) KATL, KBOS, KJFK, KLGA, KLAS, KLAX, KMEM, KMCO, KPHL, KPHX, KSAN and KSFO.

Depends on how much you like the pilot lol. Doesn't really matter. If you re-sort the que prior to the runway and give priority to those who pushed back first, you are your way to being a pro. Otherwise come join us all on the Discord Multiplayer Server :)

Tower 3D Pro, other countries airports to be released any time soon?

Well when FeelThere release it to the public, feel free to test the heck out of it and report any bugs to this forum. I don't have it at the moment due to the above reason. I have no intention of buying any new DLC until the next version now. -
Now; realistic it depends on the airport as most are provided clearance to land between 3-6 miles out .. however in the UK airports, it depends on the size: For example at Manchester or Heathrow etc (large airports); tower won't be handed the aircraft from Approach until around 6-9 nm out. So tower won't clear them to land till around 3-6nm out from the runway threshold. However at small busy airports such as EGNM (Leeds Bradford, Exeter etc) you will find that Approach or Center will pass arrival aircraft on to the tower frequency about 12-20nm out depending on traffic in the area. Tower can clear these aircraft to land around 15nm out. In the US I am told it is different. @crbascott or someone else can comment on what it is like in the US.

No problem. That's why these places exist.

@MAW You can beta test Gatwick. I've completely had enough of the base game bugs affecting new releases. The new airports being released are already flawed with bugs. I'll be keeping an eye out on how they have implemented the 2nd Runway and the bug reports to come (they are guaranteed). -
I always do it realistically. Between 500ft - 1500ft depending on the airport and aircraft type.

Community Poll - Tower!3D Product Survey

In theory the more platforms you will support, the more sales you would make. However that said Vic, check out the steam statistics: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey Specifically OS (as it does show Mac clients in those results). Only 2.84% of people on the steam network play using Mac OS. Personal opinion; I do think only having one version is the way forward. And stick only to Windows platform. 2.84% cannot be justified. EDIT: Also, having ALL dlc on the steam network would be highly recommended. -

I had no interest in the basic version. The VOIP feature was the decider for me completely. Not disappointed in my choice after seeing Steven Kiberton stream it on Twitch. If I had 2 monitors I would benefit more but 27" is enough. -

Added to the list :) -
Can I ask, from the developers perspective, what exactly counts as a "major" issue? I ask because from a consumers perspective, what is happening currently in the sim are major issues! I was very serious in what I said on the "future airports" thread in that I am contemplating not making any more purchases (along with others I might add).
-
That is a right laugh at KLAS lol
-
Testify @jonas243 xD Hit the nail on the head. Making it a taxiway would be recommended. PS: More recent EGKK chart
-
Can I ask how EGKK is implementing the second runway? In reality Gatwick has 2 runways but "Although Gatwick has the main runway and the ‘reserve’ or northern runway, they cannot be operated simultaneously. The northern runway is normally only utilised during the night when maintenance on the main runway is planned.", source - p3. At the moment, I am personally reluctant to buy any new DLC due to them always having issues with airports that are released and I know I am not alone with this feeling from talking with other MP members as well. I feel more like a BETA tester than a consumer. Rather than enjoying the sim I find myself feeling very frustrated and utterly disappointed most of the time. On top of that, the latter takes away the enjoyment of the sim completely. Developers then make changes (which takes time understandably) to try to resolve the issues at one airport but in return causes more issues elsewhere. Due to the latter, new DLC's on the way are already flawed with issues that are already present in other airports. Sort this out developers!
-
Seems that it is more the latter (taxiing speeds). It's certainly an issue at EDDM, JKF (22L), Boston (every runway), KSAN, ... sod it ... just about every airport for that matter. Agreed with the landing distance. Quite shocked at it tbh for a CRJ. However as I discussed last night with someone through PM, a pilot in reality, can exit at a closer taxiway if they apply more reverse thrust and a higher braking setting. Could do but as discussed was expecting the CRJ's to exit onto B7 if not B8 if they couldn't make B7.
-
The problem we found with the CRJ's was that with the landing distance being that long, getting outbounds out in-between gaps was impossible. According to Bombardier, the CRJ700 has a landing field length of 5,040ft, the CRJ900 is 5,260ft and the CRJ1000 is 5,740ft: http://commercialaircraft.bombardier.com/en/fleet-solutions/crj-series It's got me puzzled because it is impossible to get outbounds rolling after lining up and waiting for these specific CRJ aircraft to leave the runway in order for takeoff clearance before the next landing aircraft.

http://www.airliners.net/aircraft-data Great link :) See that is the issue. When the developers change one setting for one airport it affects the rest like we have all observed. So before and airport is released there are already issues in place.
