  1. I used to work in an office IT department. You'd be amazed by how many "someone deleted my critical files!" calls were resolved by dragging it back out from a subfolder to where they wanted it. ;) Glad you got it sorted. Cheers, Ian P.
  2. Try searching for fsx.cfg and renaming it to fsx.bak. Once you have done this, restart the sim and allow the cfg file to be rebuilt (you will be returned to default settings) - see if that fixes your problem. The two may be unrelated, but co-incidentally occurred. It wouldn't be the first time such a thing has happened! If it is fixed, you can either delete your .bak file and recreate your settings or, if you want, you can delete the new fsx.cfg, rename your fsx.bak file to .cfg and see if the problem returns. If nothing else, it'll rule out the usual culprit. Ian P.
  3. If you go to your simMarket account and check "my orders" then you should be able to copy and paste the information directly from there into the FSUIPC registration page - that will eliminate any typographical or transposition errors? Cheers, Ian P.
  4. Andy that's not true and even if it was, it would be a pretty stupid thing to do as a business. They implemented the ticket system because everything submitted using it is then tracked and can be actioned by any member of the team, whereas support by e-mail isn't controlled and ends up with no-one, or multiple, people responding. Having done IT support for ten years, I can't help but agree with that! Anyway, that's irrelevent. Alan: If you've submitted a ticket to simMarket, can you PM me the number please and I'll send it up the simFlight tree to get it to go down the simMarket tree and see what has happened. If you haven't submitted a ticket, can you do so, please? Thanks. Ian P.
  5. Did you try raising a ticket through the "contact us" button at simMarket, Alan? That's by far the quickest way to get hold of them directly. Ian P.
  6. Sorry. I did mean assigning not calibrating. Ian P.
  7. Check that you don't have the assignments for the pedals also set in FS default controls panel. Whenever you attach a new device, FS gives it default properties: X = pitch, Y = roll, rotation = rudder, etc. (Buttons as well as axis - even though pedals have no buttons usually!) You'll need to go through and delete the default settings if you want to calibrate using FSUIPC. Cheers, Ian P.
  8. The OP has apparently posted this no fewer than seven times in different places (actually, three times in one forum and twice in two others), without actually coming back and looking at this one where you have replied, Pete. I've deleted all the other posts and put him back on moderator approval for new posts until he actually reads this one! Ian P.
  9. Moved from User Contributions. Ian P.
  10. Moved to Pete's support forum. Ian P.
  11. When thinking of IP Addresses, it's usually best to remember that they are actually all numbered from 0 to 255, so although you may see, say, "192.168.0.1" and "192.168.0.10", they are actually "192.168.000.001" and "192.168.000.010" - Windows removes the extra leading zeroes, which can sometimes be useful and other times (such as this) a pain. Cheers, Ian P.
  12. Sorry to interrupt, but we must have edited that post simultaneously, Pete... Didn't think that was possible, but we both deleted the same key! ;) Ian P.
  13. Hi Toby, I'm not Pete, but got here first! Can you please confirm that you have downloaded the current installer versions (you can check here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/) and also that you are entering your details EXACTLY as they were when you got your licenses? If the e-mail address is out of date, you still need to use your old address - it's only there to identify you, not to communicate with you. I (and Pete) would seriously recommend copying and pasting the information from your simMarket account's orders page. Cheers, Ian P.
  14. UAV = Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The US Predator/Reaper is the most visible example in the press, recently. Ian P.
  15. I separated this gentleman's post out into its own thread last night, because he had tagged it on to an announcement post in the FSX forum. It was here when I authorised it, but now seems to have gone walkies and a quoted version is here instead...? Only the deities of IP.Board know what's going on there. Sorry. Ian P.
  16. Isn't there a commercial scenery - FSLandmark or something like that - which does exactly this? Ian P.
  17. There are ways of creating "tracked" routes in FSX, but I believe they're done through the mission creation kit and will probably only work in missions. Ian P.
  18. Didn't Flight1 market a stand-alone glass cockpit system that could connect to FSX and possibly FS9 as well? That might have been an Avidyne, though. Ian P.
  19. Copy and replace. Ian P.
  20. Pete is referring to Windows Explorer, rather than Internet Explorer - the contents of your local PC drives. The quick way of getting to it is to hold down the Windows key (between left alt and left control usually) and press "e". Ian P.
  21. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but it's the a default FS status for "Stall Warning", which activates the effects before (and during) the actually stalled state? I'd have thought that reading that status using FSUIPC and using it to drive an actuator through an interface card would be appropriate. Ian P.
  22. Strangely, I brought 747PS1 up a couple of days ago as an example of how much "serious" simmers were prepared to spend and how far they were preapred to go to achieve a goal, when talking about Prepar3D... Sorry to drag this slightly off track, but I find it amusing that I was talking about it and then this thread appears. ;) Ian P.
  23. They're in the Modules folder regardless of whether FSUIPC is registered or unregistered. Cheers. Ian P.
  24. Hi Alan, It's a very common problem, unfortunately - however if you ask people to install FSUIPC before installing your application, that causes just as many problems. There isn't a good answer. I just automatically try and copy the latest FSUIPC.dll back in after installing a complex add-on these days. I just keep a copy of the latest version called "FSUIPC.bak" in my modules folder. Can you just confirm that you can run FDC and that it doesn't overwrite FSUIPC please? There's no reason it should, but I'd rather not say it's definitely the installer until that is confirmed. Cheers. Ian P.
  25. I would strongly suspect that the Aerosoft installer included the older version of FSUIPC and simply overwrote your newer one without checking the date and/or version of the file it was overwriting. Many installers do that, unfortunately. I would have thought that if you run FDC now you have replaced 3.73 with a 3.9x version, it should stay overwritten with the new version. Ian P.
