No taxiways visible Pro Atc X
Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Yes, that would make more sense. However, I think it's the "DUMMY" EDDB2 file, apparently dealing with the Schonefeld area now part of Brandenburg, which is not just adding the heliport but also losing the taxiways and adding 6 unnamed ones instead. Somehow my renaming that had fixed it the way MakeRwys processes them, but I'm not sure why. The BGLs are processed in the order found in the folder directory and preceding the name by X should make it processed later, whereas it seems to now be overridden by the correct file. Perhaps renaming a file brings it to the top of the directory? Seems odd, but it works for me. Pete -
FSUIPC and keystroke from a remote program
Pete Dowson replied to Buffort's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
No, but you could use FSUIPC logging to see what arrives, as you are doing with your Python program. That's why I thought you might know. Well, you could use this from the list John posted: L: an 8-byte unsigned value, to be converted into a Python long If you could also use hexadecimal in Python that would make it easier. For your test send something which doesn't take any time for the sim to obey, like P for Pause or Q for quiet. S to change the display could be taking longer than the time you allow (though the control should really show twice). However, a log with Keypress logging would show the timing. Are you using ProsimV3 with the updated PSU? I'm rather surprised it supports sending keypresses over WideFS. You'd think it would send tham via its own links, to ProSim or the ProSim module running within P3D. Anyway, logging what FSUIPC sees will show us what is going on. Pete -
FSUIPC and keystroke from a remote program
Pete Dowson replied to Buffort's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
What does it use to send the keystroke? I don't know Python. What's the 'u'? Is that supposed to represent the keystroke for s? Is it writing to 3110 first, then 3114? If so then the first write to 3110 will send whatever rubbish is in 3114. You should write to 3114 first, or write all 8 bytes together. And you need to enable button & key logging not just IPC writes so we can see the timing of the key press and key release operations. Pete -
No taxiways visible Pro Atc X
Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Okay. But if that's part of the Deletions, then I process all the deletions in sceneries in a folder before processing the additions. The EDDI file does seem to contain more than just additions -- lots of taxiways to start with. It seems to be adding the airport. Pete -
Error #2 SIMACARS
Pete Dowson replied to Alexandru Lupu's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Just posting pretty pictures is pointless. You need to provide details. Rather important things like what simulator? If it's X-Plane you are in the wrong forum. Also, if it is actually FSUIPC you are using, which version? And is it running? If it is then SimACARS has the problem that it cannot find it. Maybe you are running one program as administrator and the other not, preventing them talking. Have you asked in the SimACARS support? I've no idea what that program is, but I assume they have some sort of support? Pete -

Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
I'm posting again just to bring this up to date and correct an earlier mistake of mine. The version I am using is the P3D5 one. I hadn't realised this was a completely different version to yours. Mine was 2.0.2.0. I've managed to find the ASUpdater (which is useful -- never seen it before, but it was evidently installed at some time in the past), and have now updated EDDB to version 2.0.3.0, which I assume corresponds to your 1.0.3.0. The readMe says: 2.0.3.0 - Changed Gatesnumbers to fit regular Numbers (1502 -> 15) - Changed Gate usage to actual ICAO Airlinecodes after switch of TXL - Add centerline and light to Taxiway B - Prevent soft ground - Changed Concrete Textures of ground to get better differnce to Markings I noted that the scenery, though sold by Aerosoft, is by 29Palms. Is your version by them too? Anyway, after installing the update I ran MakeRwys and checked the T5.csv. I now get the same as you, just 6 taxiways. The airport files I have are: EDDB_ADEV5-DUMMY-BER.bgl EDDB_ADEV5-OP01-BER.bgl EDDI_ADEV5-OP01.bgl As an experiment I renamed two of them, thus: XEDDB_ADEV5-DUMMY-BER.bgl EDDB_ADEV5-OP01-BER.bgl XEDDI_ADEV5-OP01.bgl Doing that appears to make it all work correctly. I don't know why. I also see that EDDI is included in some detail. Strange. Anyway, you could try something similar with your three airport files. I've reported these problems to 29Palms, on their Forum, and will await their advice and resoning. Pete -
No taxiways visible Pro Atc X
Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
As Moskito-X points out, the default entry comes last in your listing. Did you add it as an afterthought? I see it also appears at the start of the file too. However, the default scenery doesn't remove anything, it just overwrites some things -- the runways, three taxi hold points, and a number of COM frequencies. The culprit removing your taxiways, and a lot else probably, is the one or both of the other two entries for EDDB. This entry is very odd: D:\Addon Scenery\Mega Airport Berlin Brandenburg Professional\.\scenery\EDDI_AFX.bgl Airport EDDB :N52:21:43.6810 E013:30:00.2529 147.64ft Country Name="Germany" State Name="" City Name="Berlin" Airport Name="Berlin Brandenburg International" The BGL name implies it is for EDDI, yet the ICAO code is given as another EDDB! (EDDI is, or was, Templehof, miles away). The other odd one is the one it calls EDDB2, which is still EDDB as ICAO IDs only have 4 characters That appears to be for what's left of Schonefeld (its Heliport?). All three of those sceneries, all for EDDB, come in the same folder, so I assume they are intended. The problem might be the ordering -- they are processed in folder directory order (by MakeRwys and P3D) which is usually alphabetical order (but may not be). Your three are EDDB_AFX-DUMMY-BER.bgl EDDB_AFX-OP01-BER.bgl EDDI_AFX.bgl The ones in red are the strange ones. You should try renaming one of those (to say .bgl_passive), then checking the results. If still not right, try the other instead. I have noted this statement on the Aerosoft sales page: Maybe you need to investigate that, too? As I said, I have the previous version (and the one still current in my Aerosoft account with no update in sight), and that too has 3 airport files: EDDB_ADEV5-DUMMY-BER.bgl EDDB_ADEV5-OP01-BER.bgl EDDI_ADEV5-OP01.BGL The first is entitled "EDDB2 - Berlin Brandenburg Helipad". The third is labelled as Berlin-Brandenburg too, which must be an error. I haven't looked at that part of the scenery to check, but there appears virtually nothing there according to both your and my results.. I'm not losing any taxiways. I think that's about as far as I can go with this. [LATER] No! I went further -- see next message! Pete -
No taxiways visible Pro Atc X
Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Well, there are some in the T5.csv, but not all of them listed in the Runways.txt entry. The Runways.txt entry shows lots of taxiway segments, all of which should appear in the T5.csv file. I cannot see anything wrong with the extraction made by MakeRwys. So, at present, the only thing I can think of is that there's another Airport EDDB entry later in the processing which is overriding the data provided by the main entry. Two things you can do please: 1. Search the Runways.txt file for all entries starting Airport EDDB -- look for any such entries after the one you attached above. Subsequent entries can remove things like taxiways from earlier ones. If there are any such entries please show me them. 2. Use Lorby-Si's freeware AddonOrganizer program to export the list of scenery, producing an HTML file. Attach that to a reply. Pete -
747-400/400F/800 profile
Pete Dowson replied to fire508's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Sorry, but that could not have been the solution as the profile name (the name in the [Profile.name] line is any arbitrary name you care to choose. or instance many folks use names like "Turboprops", "Props" etc. The aircraft in a Profile are those listed after that line, and can be anything. However, a smaller section from the whole name, like just PMDG, listed there would select ALL aircraft with PMDG in the name. You need to be sure the aircraft you want included in a profile does actually have the exact part you list there in its name. The easiest way to get things right every time is simply to assign the profile the first time you load a variant. Then you can later edit the INI file [Profile.name] section to replace the list, or as much as you wish, with a common part of all of them but a sufficient part for it not to be confused with others you don't want included in that profile. If you are unsure or don't really understand this, as it seems, just stick to the easy way of assigning a profile the first time you load an aircraft. That was the original way and still works fine. RC4 can't resume a saved flight in P3Dv3?
Pete Dowson replied to Sabrefly's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Thanks. Actually, that's the same as the one here on the Forum. It appears that the fxmltoflt.txt file inside is, in fact, the exe. It needs renaming. I was deceived because using 7zip to open the file shows that file as a text file which on clicking appears to be a folder, with other folders inside. In fact those "other folders" are the sections of the EXE. Your file, being a .RAR opened differently. I think i'll replace the uploaded ZIP with a properly named EXE to avoid further such confusion. 747-400/400F/800 profile
Pete Dowson replied to fire508's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
The Profile Name isn't relevant in this. You could call it "MyStuff" for all that matters. It's the list of aircraft following the [Profile.MyStuff] (or whatever) section heading which matters. You probably replaced the list with something like 1=PMDG 737 or better "737NGX" to encompassed all varieties. As you must have done for the 737, you need to edit the list for the 747 profile to encompass all of the 747 models you want. just just parts of the names which appear in all. The taxi light is probably programmed in the no-profile default settings. PS I see John has also replied with more technical advice for you. Pete -

Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
I know! I didn't ask for the whole file!! I asked only for the section for the airport you have problems with -- the Aerosoft EDDB! In your post of November 30th you did include, in the post itself, part of that -- so you know how to do it. But you only posted a little bit, the start. I asked then for the whole section, up to the following "Airport .." section. That's the main source of what MakeRwys is finding. As I said before, your T5.csv does include taxiways for EDDB, but it seems only 6 of them. Don't they appear in ProATC/X? Pete -
RC4 can't resume a saved flight in P3Dv3?
Pete Dowson replied to Sabrefly's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Strange. I've not re-uploaded in since it was first uploaded in Jan 2018! I wonder if it later fell foul of some virus checker on the host system. i think SimFlight moved to a new server a while ago. As suggested by Ray, please send me a copy to fix the hosted file: petedowson@btconnect.com. But please rename it to .txt and ZIP it, otheriwse my (newer) Server checker might block it. Pete -

Pete Dowson replied to dwschoeneck's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Really? Sorry, I never saw it. Maybe it was in my Junk folder, but i always quickly scan through it before clearing it. Did you attach files? If so it may be that my Server didn't like one of them. I already said: the complete section in the Runways.txt file referring to that airport. Look back where I said so, here: Okay, so there are taxiways for EDDB provided. Not all of them if that's your total list from T5.csv. But assuming you've truncated the list, I think you may need ProATC/X support now. No, there's a lot more than that, else there's no gates, no ILS's , just one runway, and no other selectable runways except 7R, and the taxiways you listed for EDDB couldn't have been extracted. The main entry is the one for EDDB_AFX-OP01-BER.bgl and most everything will be there. It's a large section I assure you. the other two are iirrelevant to this. The email contact is only needed if you need to send one of the BGLs for me to analyse. You can extract the relevant section of the Runways.txt file, ZIP it and attach it here. Don't forget, also, that the information you supplied already does show there are taxiways, and they are in the T5.csv file, so really the problem seems to be in ProATC/X. Shame that program appears to have been abandoned (as was the author's previous product). That's why the can't do anything. Anyway, if you ZIP up the complete T5.csv file too, i could try the Taxiway map in my ATC program (Pilot2ATC). Both ZIPped files will be small enough to attach here. Where did you get "ASUpdater"? I just download files, including updates, from my Aerosoft account. Pete -
RC4 can't resume a saved flight in P3Dv3?
Pete Dowson replied to Sabrefly's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Actually one of the files with a .txt filetype is a folder containing other compiler related files and another folder. But even in those there doesn't appear to be an EXE. It looks like it has been like that since it was uploaded (I've never used it). That was in January 2018, so it is surprising it hasn't been mentioned before. Perhaps you might PM the supplier wombatau or email the author hippo@desiredtrack.com. Pete -
Support of VRInsight 737 Overhead by FSUIPC
Pete Dowson replied to 737Andi's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
I think it's very unlikely unless VRInsight provide some sort of support for it, and it wouldn't be FSUIPC directly even then -- it would need programming as, whilst FSUIPC recognises standard buttons and axes, it doesn't deal with displays and gauges. The answer in another thread, relating to the A320 overhead, applies. Pete -
ProsimUtils 1.8.1 SimConnect Window
Pete Dowson replied to Metall4You's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
I use PSU, but I had no idea it could send keystrokes to the Sim. I use it to get flight plan and performance data (from my PFPX + TOPCAT planning). It also drives my centre console thermal printer and, hopefully, my on-EICAS checklists (though I've not yet tried that with the ProSimV3 version of PSU). I think your question needs directing to Humberto on the relevant ProSim subforum. Pete -
Sorry, but I've no idea what the FDX MIP is nor a CPFLight Board, or Black Box. What is "FS-COM" supposed to do? FSUIPC only recognises Joystick-type devices. Look in Windows' Game Controllers. Does it show your MIP with buttons/switches? If not then you'd need some sort of driver. If "FS.COM" supposed to be a driver, and if so, what does it do with the inputs? Have you checked its documentation? You'll need to get guidance on how to use your hardware and that 'FS.COM' first. I'm sorry, but I'm no help with any of that. You tell me what it does, what it actually provides or sends to FSUIPC, and I can then help with the FSUIPC part. Pete

P2A PTT Not Connecting
Pete Dowson replied to kwompus21's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Good. Glad that's solved. Now enjoy flying with P2A! Pete -
The Client log shows the reason: 2547 Error on client pre-Connection Select() [Error=10061] Connection refused Seems you have a firewall protecting access to your MSFS PC. You need to either turn it off or create FSUIPC7 or WideClient as an exception. Sorry, I can't say how to do that specifically. I never have any firewalls on any of my sim PCs. they are just a nuisance. Note that It's also possibly, but less likely, that the protection is on your client PC. Pete

P2A PTT Not Connecting
Pete Dowson replied to kwompus21's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Sorry, but this is very confusing. I thought you had P2A running on a separate PC to the flight sim? If so what on earth is FSUIPC doing on the P2A PC? And how did WideClient get into an FSUIPC folder? Why is FSUIPC there? The WideClient.EXE, WideClient.INI and WideClient.LOG files all go together, all in the same place. They will never be separated! If you "pulled" the WideClient EXE out to your desktop and ran WideClient from there, it will be using a default INI file ON YOUR DESKTOP and it will make a LOG file ON YOUR DESKTOP. A log is always produced. If you want an icon for WideClient on the desktop you have to make a shortcut (eg by "pulling" it whilst holing the ALT key down, or right-clicking and selecting "Create shortcut". It sounds like you are running WideClient with default settings, therefore ignoring your changes to the INI file in the folder containing the original EXE. So, no "KeySend" actions! Pete -
Overhead A320 VRInsight
Pete Dowson replied to ALEXANDRE Alain's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Following on from what John says, i think the VRInsight overhead units come with their own driver. I don't think they are serial devices, and in any case they aren't recognised by FSUIPC as VRInsight devices. When I saw one at an FS Show at Cosford here in the UK I did ask about compatibility, and was definitely informed they need their own software. I couldn't get any information about the interface. If they are USB HID devices, which I suspect (but try using HidScanner to see) then you should be able to write a Lua script to handle it using the HID facilities provided. But it's would be a big job dealing with all of the switches, displays and gauges. So I really I think you are dependent on whatever VRInsight provides. Pete -

The WideClient log is produced by WideClient, and will be with your WideClient.EXE and WideClient.INI files. I needed to see that log. The FSUIPC logging is good. -------------------------------------------------------------------- My settings in Wideclient.INI for P2A are: UseSendInput=Yes KeySend110=112,16 ; F1 Press PTT for P2A KeySend111=112,24 ; F1 Release PTT for P2A KeySend112=121,16 ; F10 Press Sayit for P2A KeySend113=121,24 ; F10 Release Sayit for P2A KeySend114=117,16 ; F6 Press Sound device for P2A KeySend115=117,24 ; F6 Release Sound device for P2A so, not a lot different. However, I do remember I had some difficulty when my assignments were more logical -- F1, F2, F3. I experimented till I found tthe Function keys which worked as hot keys with P2A. I don't know why some didn't -- I'm guessing something else was 'stealing' them. Does that work even when P2A doesn't have the focus? i.e. click on another program's window first. Then press F12. On my P2A PC I'm still running Win7. I know hot keys work well in win7. but to my experience (eg on my P3D PC) they certainly don't always on Win10. I don't know why, but mostly i have to have first clicked on the program which is supposed to capture the keypress. Pete
