  1. I stand corrected :-) It's not that you have more ears than all of us put together, its that you have bigger ears than all of us put together! Which is obviously the reason that there is such good customer service around here :-) So,,,, how are those cargo ramps coming along? I really am thrilled that you were so responsive to this :-) I am even more excited about KATL than before (as if that were possible). I was just out there this weekend observing from inside the parking deck when a massive rainstorm moved in from the south. The wind was unbelievable, and picked up so much dirt from the ground that the air turned brown and looked like a sandstorm in the Sahara. Just as I retreated to the car, a Delta MadDog approaching 9R executed a go-around and had to crab almost sideways in the crosswind to maintain the center line of the runway. I wish I had a video. It was something to see. Andrew
  2. Yeah, that's one of the best compilations out there. Andrew
  3. You obviously have never seen Vic. He has more ears than all of us put together :-))))) Andrew
  4. If you are using it "straight out of the box", the files are not there yet. There are two options: You can create the necessary folder structure and the files yourself (some may literally be copied form Tower2011 and renamed (ex: Tower3DPro/Extensions/Airfields/KLAX/ klax_schedule.txt, klax_terminals.txt, etc.). Alternatively, if you buy and install Real Traffic, then these folders and files will be created for you, and you may modify or replace them as desired. The second option will save you some time and research. Andrew
  5. Click on Help from inside the game, and it will come up.
  6. I believe the EGLL for T2011 was done by a 3rd party (Simulated Designs), and that this was the only airport they did. Any chance they might want to take on the 3D version, or have they completely disappeared?
  7. I presume this mean Frankfurt; I cannot think of anything else European that he did. It will be neat to see how it comes out. Andrew
  8. In best Eeyore voice, "Oh well, I guess I can get on with other things then." Seriously, if you would like me to have a look at it to see if I can spot any problems over the weekend, just send me a PM :-) I would even still be happy to pay full price for it when you actually release it. Hey, you can't blame me for trying ;-) Andrew
  9. Very nice, Vic. I can even see the parking deck where I go sometimes to watch planes :-). Now how about that revised ETA? Andrew
  10. Fair enough, and THANK YOU for fixing the cargo terminals. That is worth getting right, as it drove me crazy in the T2011 version when a cargo plane would land on Run way ten and then be assigned a parking spot at the North ramp all the way on the other dis of the field. So what is the revised ETA on ATL? Are we talking hours or days? Andrew
  11. This would depend upon the SOP at the particular airport and the given traffic situation. If its not busy, they might very well clear him in immediately. An even if there is some traffic, controllers are allowed to issue landing clearances based on a reasonable expectation that the runway will be clear by the time the plane will land. That is to say they can issue a clearance before the previous landing aircraft has vacated the runway as long as it appears that the plane will make its assigned exit with time to spare. After all, if something changes, the controller can still issue a go-around if the need arises (and of course so can the pilot). Andrew
  12. Cool, but might be a bit problematic if someone trips over the power cord :-) The big question is whether it is compatible with Tower3DPro? Andrew
  13. VIc, you crazy old coot! :-) First you tease me with pseudo screenshots that don't really show anything, then you disappear for an entire day right after promising a release the day before, and then to add insult to injury you actually hijacked my thread. There was once a time when those would have been grounds for challenging you to a duel. However, that time has passed, and so I will just laugh along with the rest you. Ha! Now, how about releasing KATL before William B Hartsfield digs his way out of his own grave and comes to get you? Who would have ever guessed that FeelThere would start the zombie apocalypse by taking too long with releasing a Tower3D add-on? :-) Andrew
  14. Exactly. That way I can quit haranguing the forum, and Russell can take over :-)) Andrew
  15. Completely agreed about Real Color. Yeah, DAL does still have a couple of 744s left, though none flying out of ATL anymore, unfortunately. Of course, contrary to popular belief, there are other airlines besides DAL flying out of ATL that could probably be filled in a bit, especially carriers like Spirit, SW, and Frontier that have a lot of livery variants. Then, of course, there is cargo. Speaking of which, I sure hope that they went to the trouble to treat ATL's North and South Cargo Terminals as separate entities. Granted, at least Tower3DPro tries to route planes to the appropriate side of the airport, but it's just not going to look right if there is anything but FedEx and UPS up at the North Terminal. Oh well. We will wait and see, or should I say wait and wait and wait... LOL
  16. Oh well, good to know I'm keeping everybody entertained. Anyway, I know about your weakness for KDFW, Craig. Your time for suffering will come eventually ;-) Seriously though. Release KATL already! Next I suppose Vic will tell me that he's decided at the last minute to hold it back another month until Gabor gets around to making Real Color for it... Andrew
  17. At the very least, how about sharing a screenshot looking east over Terminal F.
  18. You're killing me, Vic. Absolutely killing me, and yes I know you are enjoying it immensely ;-) How about letting us Pro folks get a crack at it a day early? I promise I won't tell :-)
  19. That looks hopeful, but I do not see it active on either of your sites. When may I pay you some money for it?
  20. How are things looking? Are you leaning toward earlier in the week, or later in the week?
  21. 3DPro is more complex (more commands available), but it is not really any harder to play - there is just more to do if you want to. You do not have to use the more complex commands, but they are there if you decide to use them later on. The actual basic game play between the two is very similar, but 3DPro gives you something to grow into over time. Let me put it this way, if you buy Tower2011 and really like it, then you will eventually want to get Tower3D Pro later on. Both are highly mod-able; in fact Tower2011 is slightly more mod-able. The only one of these games that I would steer you away from is the basic version of Tower3D, as there is little advantage to it over Tower2011 except for the 3D view. Let's break things down: Tower2011: Top-down 2D view, simple commands, but they must be typed (or hotkeys assigned) if you are not using voice recognition, the radar does not have the names of taxiways on and you will need an airport diagram nearby to control effectively, more add-on airports available right now, it is an old product so most bugs are worked out and it will run well even on low-end computers but you can expect fewer add-on ans updates in the future. Eventually, it will probably be phased out. Tower3DPro: 3D view, simple and complex commands, button control available if (when) you are not using voice recognition, the taxiways are labels right on the radar display so no airport diagram is needed, it is a new product so there are still a few growing pains and bug that are being solved, and only a couple of add-on airports available right now but more are coming soon. It likely has a longer future ahead of it. The voice recognition is better. The visuals are more detailed - the 3D makes a big difference; things like pushback, go-arounds, and the planes themselves are handled more intricately and are more fun to watch. To put it simply, it is more immersive.
  22. Basically, yes, but it purely depends on how realistic you want to be.
  23. I see the same thing, but I am able drag it around a little to get to the edges, and then resize it to what I need using the mouse and grabbing it at the edges. Alternatively, you can stretch the main 3D display all the way across both monitors and then place the strips on one side and the radars on the other. I have found this to work very well and creates the illusion of looking out windows.
