Need help, several extensions not working
crbascott replied to Dana Rippey's topic in ATC Simulators
The time stamps being similar indicate that the folders were created by Real Traffic. What would be more telling is the contents of the airport folders. @Dana Rippey can you share the contents of one or more of the folders for airports you have that are not showing up? -
Gate availability is a major issue with this game engine and it is magnified by loading 8 hours of flights. This issue is quite evident when playing with Real Traffic. The only workaround I’ve found is to use schedule snippets thus reducing the negative impact that can occur with using a full schedule. I’d recommend using @battlehawk77’s custom schedule for RJTT as he provides snippets for each of his 7 daily schedules.

anyone heard anthing about the next airport
crbascott replied to ATC AlaskaGuy's topic in ATC Simulators
@FeelThere As requested Vic, I am not going to quote you but I would like to buy you another drink at the bar while you listen to my legally drunk ramblings. 🍻 Very excited to hear about the graphic and engine improvements. The airport/airplane builder is also very much a positive. You mentioned early on that the next version should take things to the next level and I really think that should be the mantra for everything related to the next version. Regarding current airports. To be honest, people are calling you greedy now by releasing new airports despite having a flawed game engine. On the other hand, there seems to be a substantial audience that is willing to pay full price (versus waiting to the next sale) and gobble up airports as soon as they are released. A compatibility patch makes sense - this would appease the budget conscious and those heavily invested in T!3D. For new and existing customers that want a best in class product and want to see outdated airports receive much needed improvements, we will either need to rely on you or the community via the airport builder. Personally, I see this as a new version and don't expect compatibility. I see no greed in releasing the same airports for the new version. If all I get is a 2010 outdated version of KLAX, despite a new engine I'm probably out. To be brutally honest, my hometown airport KDFW doesn't appeal to me with T!3D or the new version. I want to see next level stuff. Thanks for listening. I'll get us both an Uber. Cheers, Craig PS - Definitely interested in a blog. Great idea! -

I thought it was Professional Bull Riding. This makes a lot more sense. 😂 -

Good question @ATC AlaskaGuy, existing airport compatibility has been brought up before and is a wishlist item. However, we’ll have to wait and see as the official features of the next version have not been announced yet. Personally, I think the next version really needs to step things up graphically (take things to the next level as Vic mentioned early on). Referring to Vic’s post in this thread - getting a new weather system will be a positive. But none of the existing airports (especially an outdated version of KLAX) can be touted as having best in class graphics. Hopefully, they can can make both camps happy - those that want to use the existing airports and those that want to see something new and very much improved both functionally and graphically. -
To be honest the rules only said “must message me privately with a working email address so that I can gift you the prize”. To me this only covers how to get the prize and not how to provide the answer. I’m sure Peter intended for it to be via PM, but ... The question I have is - what airport(s) do@Braf123456 and @battlehawk77 not have already? 🤔
-
Good luck. You may already know this about the times, but if I’m not mistaken the times in the schedule file (for T!2011 also) are supposed to be local. The game uses the GMT offset in the sector definition to internally covert to UTC. I sure am glad they changed this for T!3D. It was always very confusing.

I'll just settle for being extremely handsome. 😉

@DeltaVII - The cause of your error message is the sidstar_cfg file. I tested your sector with EDDH using runway 23 and got the same error messages. However, there is a solution. The game looks for the first route combination in your sidstar file and assigns the STAR accordingly. So, using LEBL:EDDH as an example it finds this route under AGATI2F which you have assigned to only runway 15. Hence, the message that there was no STAR for this route. As a result I edited your sidstar file and kept just the STARs that were assigned to runway 23. After doing this everything worked perfectly (LEBL:EDDH was assigned to AGATI2K). As a result, based on your setup it looks like you'll need multiple sidstar files and you'll need to rename/use the one specific for the appropriate runway/flow. For what it's worth, I've always had to create multiple versions of the same sector for things to look and work like they should and in some cases multiple sidstar files too.

Retro RC, Vote for your favourite liveries to be created
crbascott replied to hexzed's topic in ATC Simulators
Ironically most of these can be seen as special liveries in real life today. -
It’s really time to start your own thread. You’ve hijacked this one enough. You’re putting very little effort into doing anything on your own. If you really want to learn something you’ll look into software like @scoobflight mentioned and you can self-serve This thread is for learning how to do something yourself. That hasn’t happened the last 5 pages or so.

FlightAware has 14 days of flights at the airport level for free. So, yes, a Christmas 2019 schedule is not a financially wise decision. However, when you’re ready to build a schedule using real data, FlightAware is where I’d recommend you start.
-
I definitely agree and think you need to tap the brakes a little and understand everything involved first. Your “enthusiasm” is great but there’s a lot more involved than you realize - especially if you want to build an authentic quality schedule.
-
Much more than that.
-
It goes that far back at a flight or aircraft level. But only two days for a full airport schedule.
-
You’ve asked this multiple times and we’ve already said the data is not available - it only goes back two days at the airport level. But if it were available, do you really understand what you’re asking? Do you have any idea how many flights and pages/screenshots that would be? How do you plan on creating this schedule? Manually typing it in?

KLAX Christmas 2018 CUSTOM Schedule
crbascott replied to Controller- Rogue's topic in ATC Simulators
Scroll back to the previous page - this has already been discussed. -
If the old flights are coming back you are not doing what I suggested. Or you don't have update/write authority on the airport folders.
-
Disagree. This is a feature in competing ATC sims and is also common in flight sims. A lot of wishlist items have been duplicated. Let's not be too critical here. No - it is much sooner. Pilots raise the landing gear almost immediately - once positive rate of climb is confirmed. I believe he is wanting this as a normal feature - not just with custom schedules. I think you misunderstood the request. He's looking for a traffic flow overlay (diagram).
-
The game looks for a specific filename. Assuming you are building a KLAX schedule the filename is klax_schedule.txt. You'll want to rename or move/backup the original RT file so the game will use your file.

Ah - you definitely understand Brafanese better than I do. Let's hope they don't release LHR before June. 😉 -

I have no idea what you are trying to say here but here goes an attempt at a reply. JFK and LAX have both had RC updates so I don't foresee another update for then anytime soon. If and when LHR is released, I'm sure the Aeroflot A350 will be added if it flies there. However, looking at the last two weeks I don't see any. -
KLAX Christmas 2018 CUSTOM Schedule
crbascott replied to Controller- Rogue's topic in ATC Simulators
I think you are jumping to the wrong conclusions based on @Braf123456's reply. Unless I'm mistaken you can only go back a couple of days on FR24 to see the arrivals and departures for an airport. -
KLAX Christmas 2018 CUSTOM Schedule
crbascott replied to Controller- Rogue's topic in ATC Simulators
With a free FlightAware account you get the same thing - 3 months of flight history. But that is the key point, just like FR24, it is as the flight or aircraft level and not the airport level. For the record, I have a Gold subscription for FR24.
