  1. If you have been putting off buying Tower3D or any of its' add-ons, now looks like a good time to buy. Everything looks to be 25-35% off. You can buy KSAN and Real Color for KSAN for less than the price of just what KSAN was. But you have to go to feelther.com and not atcsuite.com Happy Valentines Day everybody, RickyJ
  2. Okay, I get it, it is a February 29th release :) RickyJ
  3. Vic, You're welcome, a pleasure to be of assistance. It's my old CISSP certification kicking in again and 42 years of IT. RickyJ
  4. Is port 22222 a good choice? Seems like a lot of bad stuff uses this port. RickyJ P.S. I may be a little paranoid, or is that a pair of noids? 5. Dave, A simpler thing you can do is load a program like "FRAPS" and see what kind of frame rate you get to see if your hardware is able to handle the program. http://www.howtogeek.com/209710/4-quick-ways-to-see-a-pc-game’s-fps-frames-per-second/ RickyJ
  6. One other thing you can do, but it is not going to be pretty, and it won't really be ugly, it will be somewhere in the middle, lets call it pretty ugly. Thank you Abbott and Costello. There is always "Process Monitor", procmon.exe (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processmonitor.aspx). I ran it and captured over 4,000 events when filtering on tower3d.exe as it opened KLAX. Here are a couple screenshots when selecting "START" for KLAX till when it finally opened. 5:19:27 to 5:19:36, a little over 9 seconds. Hopefully I did not capture and display any confidential or proprietary details. At any rate, in those 9 seconds are a whole bunch of CreateFile, CloseFile, ReadFile entries along with registry queries and the result. Anything taking a long time to complete (more than a second) or not having a "SUCCESS" result would be suspicious, but I would refrain from uploading any saved log files from the trace, there may be lurkers out there and your registration key may be embedded in the trace file. May the force be with you, RickyJ
  7. I am not a good negotiator, that is why I take my friend with me when I have to buy a car. So as far as Tower3D Pro is concerned, when it is released, I admit it, I'm a wimp, I gotta have it!!!!! But not a penny over $499.99 USD or I might have to wait for the FeelThere Summer Sale. RickyJ
  8. Dave, It could be disk activity. If you want to dig deeper into CPU, Memory and disk, you can open "Resource Manager" at the bottom of the "Performance" tab in "Task Manager". You should be able to see what processes may be causing the problem. RickyJ
  9. I used to get crashes all the time when I would run the Steam version of Tower!3D. But then purchased the version from the developer site, due to Dovetail not releasing updates in what I would consider a timely fashion. Since then I have not had a crash in over six months. This is part of my last crash report. Are you running the Steam version or the developer version? May or may not make a difference. 10. I figured as much. It probably won't be in next version of Tower! (Tower!VR), but I think the fourth generation of Tower! (Tower!HoloGram) will have a real-time live video/satellite feed of the airport. RickyJ
  11. http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2017/01/05/better-jfk-airport-ny-gov-unveils-10-billion-upgrade-plan/96214812/ Will periodic updates to KJFK for Tower!3D include new visuals as the new construction progresses? Construction equipment moving amongst the aircraft and service vehicles, way too cool. RickyJ
  12. Only a couple days too late, but here is my favorite poem to celebrate the Winter Solstice. RickyJ Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening BY ROBERT FROST Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
  13. Dear Vic and company, There are still a lot of holidays left in January http://www.officeholidays.com/2017/01.php and I am sure just as many in February and March, so your statement that T3DPro will be released by the holidays still has a ring of truth. "Like your work, love your wife." Del Griffith - Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) RickyJ
  14. Personally I would not mind buying an early release product, even if it did not have multi-player or multi-monitor. After all these years (16 that I can remember, the pre Tower days) I think you can trust these people to not leave us stranded without a hot-fix or update. However, I can also see the hesitancy in releasing an un-finished product, there tends to be a lot of whining at times and I do not mean the fermented grape juice kind. Maybe special non-disclosure statements with invitations could be sent to a select few. At any rate, I hope the following covers our global community. RickyJ
  15. Now that the Tower controller has been revamped to include "pull down" commands has there been any thoughts into re-doing Tracon with the "pull down" commands? After a four year hiatus of trying to play Tracon!2012 I realized how awkward and exasperating it was trying to do typing and mouse clicks at the same time and re-affirmed why I stopped so long ago. Especially after logging 00 00 00 80 99 65 50 3F hours and 12,457 arrivals and departures with Tower!3D. Everything else seems so laborious and I am not a big fan of voice control. Here is to hoping for a favorable marketing research study to update Tracon. The Curious Cat, RickyJ
  16. No, thank you. Your work is very much appreciated. I hope the sales figures reflect that so the new products continue to flow. Also, I am just trying to display some of the fruits of your labors since you tend to be really modest with your advertising. Especially Nyerges Design, like not mentioning that Real Traffic for Tower!3D includes updates of real traffic for each new airport released and Real Color for Tower!3D having detailed paintings for sparse airlines like Avianca and China Cargo and Volaris, not just the main airlines. Besides it makes the forum feel less like a complaint department :) Thanks again for your work, RickyJ
  17. It may help others in the future to let us know what corrected the problem, unless of course it may cause some embarrassment :) RickyJ.
  18. Do you have this directory? C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower 3D\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks And do you have files in it like these? The exact name and number of files you have in he directory may vary. RickyJ
  19. Which version of Tower!3D are you running. The Steam version or the BMT Micro version? The Steam version Real Color files are located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tower 3D\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks And The BMT Micro Real Color files are located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower 3D\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks RickyJ
  20. I prefer the GeForce family of graphics cards, ever since Radeon was sold to AMD. Plus I am not a big fan of integrated graphics processors. Otherwise, the rest looks good. RickyJ Intel Core i7-4800MQ 8GB RAM GTX 870 Running on a laptop, so I could care less about multi-monitor support :)
  21. You can try specifying an alternate directory when installing Real Traffic, compare that the new file sizes are larger, then manually move the files to their correct location, over writing the files that are there.
  22. Here is a screenshot of my C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Databases directory before and after installing Real Traffic. Before: After: Notice the size of the airlines.txt and airplanes.txt files are a lot larger. RickyJ
  23. If you edit your: C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Databases\schedule.txt file do you see: AAB, AAA, JT1, LW, 2995, 09:00, 21:30, 450, LW AAE, ALG, TRP, TG, 6001, 12:20, 11:00, 80, TG AAE, LYS, JT1, TG, 1156, 16:15, 13:25, 110, TG AAE, MRS, JT1, TG, 1150, 10:30, 08:00, 90, TG AAL, CPH, RJ1, CB, 1210, 16:50, 16:05, 45, CB AAL, CPH, RJ1, CB, 1214, 14:15, 13:30, 45, CB Where in the third column the aircraft type is JT1, TRP, RJ1, etc. "default aircraft" or: AAB, AAA, TU3, SU, 2995, 09:00, 21:30, 450, SU AAE, ALG, ATR, AH, 6001, 12:20, 11:00, 80, AH AAE, ALG, 736, AH, 6009, 20:15, 19:15, 60, AH AAE, LYS, 738, AH, 1156, 16:15, 13:25, 110, AH AAL, CPH, 321, SK, 1202, 07:55, 07:05, 50, SK AAL, CPH, CR9, SK, 1204, 19:25, 18:40, 45, SK AAL, CPH, M82, SK, 1228, 07:05, 06:20, 45, SK Where the third column indicates, TU3, ATR, 736, 738,321, etc. "Real Traffic" RickyJ P.S. I also have to run Tower!2011 as administrator. P.P.S. Try running the Real Traffic executable as administrator.
