The referenced topic is very confusing. It talks about SP1 for KJFK, KSAN and Tower!3DPro. Of which KSAN had the problem with the sinking landing gear, KJFK had the problem with simulating displaced thresholds and I do believe Tower!3DPro had nothing to do with either of these anomalies. As far as the original topic of this discussion. It is hard to tell whether or not the tower view for KJFK has been lowered. If it was you can still see the American terminal and aircraft, which is a good thing. I would assume that the tower view would be a part of the KJFK SP1 release which was March 1, 2017 and not the Tower!3DPro SP1a release which was released twice that dreaded Friday, March 24, 2017. Who in their right mind releases new software at 4:00 PM EST on a Friday. I'll never know :) RickyJ

Correctly installing Real Color Bundle for Steam edition of Tower!3D
futureboy replied to minipanda's topic in ATC Simulators
In summary, what finally fixed the problem was designating the correct installation directory. For Steam installations you need to replace: C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower!3D Pro with C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tower 3D Pro When installing Real Traffic And Replace: C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower!3D Pro\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks with C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tower 3D Pro\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks When installing Real Color RickyJ P.S. Wish there was a way to close this topic so it doesn't become something like using the runway exits for emergency vehicles while construction is going on at KJFK when the cherry blossoms are blooming in Washington and you are out whale watching at your local Lane Bryant :) -
For one day only (today) I hear there will be a special mega release of new airports for all versions of Tower?3D COK - Cochine International Airport in India based in the city of Kochi. DOH - Qatar's glitzy new airport is named for the capital Doha. SUX - Iowa's Sioux City airport OMG - Omega Airport in Namibia LOL - Derby Field airport in Nevada, serving Lovelock City For the unbelievable low price of 41.17 US or 14.17 EU RickyJ

I don't know if it started with Tower!3DPro or the SP1, but the passengers thank the pilots for not turning off the cabin lights as soon as the plane reached the gate. Thanks again, RickyJ

Then there was that little side project FeelThere was working on that they released in the end of February :) RickyJ

Tower: Schedule Creator 24 V1 Released (Includes CYYZ)
futureboy replied to dickparker's topic in ATC Simulators
If you crank up the time to 16X, that would be challenging. RickyJ -
It may deselect the plane, but the camera will still follow it. RickyJ I say "snappy" because the screen does not freeze. If the screen freezes, I would call that jerky. Everything still moves, it is the camera that "snaps".
-
Just using the four anti-aliasing options along with the depth of field choice, it would take 120 different combinations to figure out the correct graphics setting, let alone factoring in the other variable settings. I have not noticed what you would call "jerky" motion, but I have noticed what you would call "snappy" motion, and not in a good way. Even at the lowest possible graphics setting. It all started with Tower!3D Pro. If you follow a plane when it first arrives, the camera angle will stay fixed until it gets within the 2-5 nm range of the airport, then the camera view will "snap to" and follow the plane the rest of the way in. As opposed to Tower!3D where the camera would follow the plane throughout its' entire path. Then with Tower!3D Pro SP1a I have noticed this "snapping" pattern as the camera follows the plane as it taxis on the ground. Not that I am complaining because it is just probably me. RickyJ

This comes in handy for cargo planes landing on KJFK 31R. You can tell them to take the next exit on the right, instead of the default exit which is on the left. RickyJ

To be fair, the topic did start with the statement: Which of every wind direction reference and/or indication I have seen, the arrow points to the opposite of the source of the wind, or in other words it indicates the direction not the compass heading. So if the wind was from 270 the arrow would point to 90 and if it was from 90 it would point to 270. In essence it indicates the destination not the origination. Wind direction cannot be compared to a needle on a compass. But now the topic has turned into the prevailing winds. In summary, the arrow in Tower!3DPro is correct, but the prevailing winds (from the East) showing up in the sim may be construed as not entirely inaccurate. But how much does it matter if the wind speed in the sim rarely, if ever, goes above 10kts? RickyJ

The landings have never bothered me, I just let them stack up on the runway. I have not incurred any penalties for this. It's trying to get a plane to takeoff before the next plane lands and the first plane is still on the runway that makes it real tricky at KSAN. Fortunately you will get a 10nm separation in the landing aircraft to send the plane to B10 and exit, and have a plane be able to takeoff before the next plane lands. RickyJ

Click the plane, click "pushback approved, expect runway" rick click runway at the taxiway to get "25R at B3" then right click the taxiways to get the path. Then when the plane is ready, click the plane, the click "Continue Taxi". It is only available to command panel users unless you know how and which file to modify. RickyJ

The pilots at KLAX seem to know a better route to the runway than what the tower tells them. Attached is the required game.log and a couple screen captures. I do not recall this coming up in other threads. I am told that if you use voice, that the commands are being followed, but with the Command Panel text and right mouse clicks on the path they are not. I am beginning to think that Tower!3DPro is only playable to its full potential as a voice only program. In essence AAL2373 is approved for pushback and to expect runway 25R, then given instructions to take: RUNWAY 25R AT B3 TAXI VIA C C4. However, the pilot decides to take: AAL2373 => Route is: C9, B, B3, RickyJ game.log

Since nobody has complained or everybody is using "voice command" it does not look like there are any plans on expanding the "Command Panel" selectable text. I am aware that English is the spoken language of the air industry, pilot or controller or otherwise, but some of us may be voice challenged and have to type in a lot of the commands for the Pro version. I guess maybe if you cannot speak then you are not a Pro. Or is there a trick to adding more selectable text like there is for adding more voice commands? With saddened heart, RickyJ

Roger, Roger. Over, Over. RickyJ -
Did you check this thread out? RickyJ
-
Probably not until tomorrow. I like to give the support team the weekend off, although some of them, and I won't mention any names, but Vic has a tendency to not be able to contain himself :) But I have to ask: Are you running the program as Administrator? RickyJ
-
So the voice is actually saying Blah Blah Blah? This usually indicates a problem with the computer's language setting, or is this not a problem any more? RickyJ
-
Leave it to Craig to use all those fancy highly technical terms :) RickyJ

RickyJ P.S. Just realized this thread has gone severely off topic from "Cargo Carriers" and deleted my comments.

Definitely probably Nyerges the maker of Real Traffic. Marketing opportunity for Federal Express and UPS - Put windows on cargo planes so they can charge extra if you want your package to have a window view or exit row :) RickyJ

In playing multiplayer you have the tower controller (boring) and the ground controller. The tower controller handles the arriving planes and the ground controller handles the departing planes. My question is, at what point do you make the switch? Since the tower controller not only handles the arriving planes, but they also handle the planes until they reach their terminal. The same goes for the ground controller, they handle the planes on the ground, can clear them for takeoff and then send them to departure. My friend and I have decided, correct or not, to switch from tower to ground at the point the plane leaves the runway and to switch from ground to tower at the point the plane is on its way to the runway. So tower accepts the arriving plane and decides which runway to send it to and clear it for landing, once it exits the runway the plane is told to contact ground and then ground directs the plane to the terminal. Ground tells the plane to pushback and proceed to the runway. Just before the plane gets to the runway, the plane is told to contact tower and then tower tells the plane to line for take off, clear it for take off and finally contact departure. Any thoughts, feelings, strong religious beliefs???? Oh by the way, there is no pause button in multiplayer and if you hit the escape key you loose your connection, and I have not found anything to communicate with the other player during the game, except texting one another, so be sure to use the facilities and put down that beer. The zip file is the same name, you have to open the zip file to see the Tower!3D SP1 and Tower!3dPro SP1 executable. Also the runway lights are bright again. RickyJ .
