  1. Like many others who purchased Tower2011 very early in its release and have used it since then, I purchased only the single player version as at that time that was all that I required. Now as stated above, the single player version has not been supported after Windows 7. I think it would be a good jesture on Feelthere's part to offer the latest multiplayer Tower version to those early single player supporters of Tower at a reduced price, rather than have to purchase a multi player version at full price. I have not seen any statements in the past that Tower single player support was dropped after Wnidows 7. Give us players who have supported the products from the start and bought many add-on's a chance to get the latest multi player versions at a reduced price as most will be going over to Win 10 in the future. Kev M Brisbane QLD australia
  2. Johnwy I have seen this with a/c departing LAX for Asia. (HKG,SEL,etc.) I queried feelthere back around 2013 & their reply was that the a/c followed the great circle route. Flights to HNL, SYD etc. were OK To overcom this I think I changed the lattitude of the Asian destination airports using the airport text file to a latitude about the same as LAX. This makes the a/c fly pretty much directly west afer handoff instead for turning back east. Try it Kev M Brisbane Australia
  3. Bill, This might be totally off the track but I had a problem some time ago with the MS malware program deleting some tower files also the virus program might see some code as malicious or virus & delete it. Try running your runway info etc. with both your malware and antivirus turned off. If the info still disappears then it is something else causing it but at least it tells you if that is the problem or it is something else. Kev M Bbisbane Australia
  4. I also lost administrattor rights. I had to turn the guest account on to get it back. Couldn't change file etc. until got admin rights back. All seems ok now but have not turned MSE back on yet.
  5. Don,t forget to press enter after selecting alt Q or alt W Kev m
  6. A little bit of information if your Tower.exe file disapears for no reason. I hadn't used Tower for a while & noticed that the icon on the task bar was greyed out. Had a look at the files and Tower.exe was gone. Tried to reload but the .exe file would not appear. Culpret, Microsoft Security Essentials had removed the .exe file & would not allow it to be reinstalled on a reinstall of Tower. Tried turning Essentials off & the file loaded OK. Once essentials were turned on again, the file was removed. I had to put Tower.exe into the essentials exception files to keep it there. It does not seem to affect Tracon.exe. It is still there. 7. Before the moderatore jumps on me. I was referring to Tracon 2012. I have seemed to have fixed the problem as follows: 1. go into to airspaceEd.exe & load the applicable .asx file 2. Under airports change the Alt to 60 from 5000. DXB aiprot is not at 5000 ft altitude. 60 is correct. 3. Select runways, reset the altitides of the various runways to 60.0 4. Save etc & ignore any warnings about no stars & sids etc. Restart the program and the intiial call in the case of 30R departures is [departure, flight XXX with information XX at 900, climbing to 3,000 (or something like that ] At least it is now more realistic than before. Give it a go Kev M Brisbane Australia
  8. Running DXB (OMDB), departing aircraft on intial contact state [departure, flight XXX with information XX at 5000, climbing to 3,000]. showing 050 on the screen. A more realistic statement would surely be [departure, flight XXX with information XX at 1500, climbing to 3,000].or at least a intial figure less than the intiial climb clearance. Can this be changes, if so where, It's a little annoying that a departing aircraft if not immediatlly given a highber clearancee descends to 3000. Kev M Brisbane Australia
  9. The problem is that the entry level for BUBIN is 110000 ft, not 11000 ft. (one to many zero's) To fix 1. Open AirspaceEd.exe on the Tracon main folder. 2. Load DXB_30.asx. 3. From the drop down menus select STAR Routes, the select A_BUBIN 4. In the SubObject Properties, select 1. In the boxes below look at the Alt box. It should read 110000.0000 Change this it 11000.00. 5. Save the asx file and ignore any warnings. This should now work and the aiurcraft enter at 11000 ft and can be controlled Kev M
  10. I don't think the file attached to my last post so here we go again How to get rid of engine noise in Tower.txt
  11. This subject was covered a long time ago in the old forum & there are several ways of getting rid of the engine sounds. I use a headset plugged into the front of the computer & win7. Attached are the instructions that I got off the forum several years ago, adapted for my setup. Try it & see if it fits your setup. If yr using win 8 Ior the speakers and a seperate mic. I am not sure how to adapt these procedures to fit yr situstion. In this situation, the engine sounds come out of the speaker, which can be turned down & the commands out of the heaset. works fine for me. Kev M Brisbane
  12. I have reinstalled the program and all now works well. I had modified the airplanes folder files to add the 787 series (asp & APT files) aircraft and some minor changes to others. This worked fine on Tower but Tracon didn't seem to like the changes. I am now using the airplane folder files with the original tracon airplane folder, with the 787 manually added. I have also modified the airplane file in databases to include the 787's. I will investigate further when time permits. At least EDDF & the others now work fine. Thanks for the help. 13. Don, I thoght you might need the game.log but also I thought I might get lucky with a quick fix. Attached is the game.log for EDDF sector. I note that with each 5 second or so sweep that the lat/long is not changing for each aircraft. The aircraft that i tried to control were; DLH 568, DLH4673 & DLH3481. I hope this helpos. 14. Hi I have recently installed the EDDF (FRA) sector for Tracon & have the following problem. The aircraft appear on the screen but don't move forward on the screen. They accept a proceed to XX command but do not move. Even if left alone they do not move forward. This applies to both Departure and Arrivals and all airports, MIA, LAX FRA etc. The aircraft accept altitude changes and the altitude changes are reflected on the screen but no movement of the aircraft. Has anyone seen this before, if so what is the fix before I go delving into files etc. too far. Rgds Kevin M Brisbane Australia
  15. I feel a bit for Newbie & his position with the keycode. I have purchased many of the Tower & Tracon scenerios. All through Feelthere/Bmtmicro with absolutely no problems. The downloads are good and the support documentation i.e. registration Key, ID password for future downloads, etc all that is necessary if needed to redownload at a later date. My recommendation to anyone purchasing Tracon or Tower scenerios is to do it through the Feelthere site as it all works well and burn them to a DVD/CD for future reinstallations if required (computer rebuild etc.) If I was to have a criticism, is that feelthere doesn't seem to do updates to their products with minor tweeks as a lot of other S/W companies do. Also there does not seem to be a version number on their products to cross refer to for the latest versions. If they do regular updates, they don't seem to advertise these to newsletter receipients. Newbie, don't give up as they both are great programs, although with some funny things at time. Kev M Brisbane Australia Can't wait for the release of the "centrer" program. Kev M Brisbane Australia
  16. The number of arrivals compared with the schedule has always bugged me as well, but to be realistic, as the tower controller in the simulator, you are doing what would be about 3 controllers jobs in reality, tower, gnd control. and at some airports terminal control. In reality, could one controller handle all these positions with 80 aircraft in an hour. I don't think so. I work on the fact that the ones that don't turn up are running late. They eventually arrive if you play long enough. For speed & seperation on arrival, I believe it is the Tracon (approach) controller to setup the seperation before aircraft are handed to tower. I know thas does not work real well in single player tower but for those who play multiplayer, with Tracon, it might add a little more challenge for the tracon controller. Also if I am correct, in Australian ATC, the tower controller can't change the speed of aircraft when handed over to them (speed control) but it might be different in US & European ATC. Do any real world ATC controllers have any input there. Just enjoy the "game" & hopefully some of the oddities might be fixed in future revisions. Kev M Brisbane Aust.
  17. Dick, No!! I didn't think of it until some time later. I have now entered it into the "airplanes.txt" files and it works after some fiddling around. I try to write procedures as I go to help later when I need to repeat something several weeks or months later. Memory is not that good now. What I can't figure out is the relationship between the info in the .apx file & the airplane.txt file & which info is displayed on the flight strips & used in the program. Understanding this woukld help in making sure all info correlates and not havin to guess it so much when creating aircraft from existing info. On another issue, how do I get the 20KB limit increased and the ability to add system information as in the old forum. Kevin
  18. I want to add the 787-8 to the aircraft list. In plane Editor I opened the Airplane editor and used the 767-300 as the basic for this. I changed the type & code to 788, also the length, T/O distance etc. then saved the file as 788.apx I used the 767-300 _generic.apt file as the default. Edited the schedule to test & run the program. The aircraft that I changed to a 788 showed up as UNKNOWN/H. What else needs to be done in the Plane Editor to make the program recognise the 788. The manual does not seem to be much help here. Kev M Brisbane Australia
  19. Ryan, This sems to be a thing with Tracon, it has been brought to attention before. I get quite often. If an aircraft wont respond to speech commands, click on the aircraft in the arrival/departure list. It should show in the communications panel. It normally responds OK after that. Let me know how you get on Kev M
  20. As I understand it. The correct ATC phraseology for runways with headings under 100 deg is to put a zero in front of the runway identification E.g. Runway allocated as 7 is called 07 by ATC. That makes for less chance of confusion if an airport has say a runway 7 and a runway 27 by using the zero in front of the rwy 7 there is less chance of confusion. Kev
  21. Hi, I have attached the game.log file in a zip format. Luckilly it just gets in under the 20K limit. I have rechecked my sidstar_jfk.txt file & can confiorm that the Pawling2 & all its associated origins have been deleted. Also the same origins have been included in the Lendy6 approach. To my limited IT knowledge, it appears that the program is not picking up the STAR from the sidstar file but possibly from some imbedded code. I might be completely wrong here though. This does not affect playing the sim but it is more of a annoyance than a big problem. Kev M Brisbane Australiagame_log.zip
  22. Scoobflight I'll try that, fortunately it is at the start of the session. The flight is ces587 from ZSPD not RSKI as in my first post. I will not send the sidstar file. Kev M
  23. Working JFK arrival sector, some aircraft from Asia appear as a Pawling STAR arrival. From the charts, Pawling STAR is for smallish aircraft only. I have modified the sidstar_jfk.txt file to reallocate ZSPD, RJAA, & RSKI to Lendy 6 arrivals. When the program runs, CES587 from RSKI still comes in on a Pawling Arrival, instead of now coming in on a Lendy6 arrival. I have completely removed the Pawling STAR from the sidstat_jfk.txt file but this still happens. I can not attach the game.log & the modified sidstar_jfk.txt file as even compressed, they are bigger than 20KB. How do I get around this as well as the first problem? Any ideas Kev M
  24. Japus & Gel, I too have tinnitus & can understand your predicament. For the call signs, what I have found is. QANTAS is pronounced CANTAS on Tower/Tracon. Change the call sign to QUANTAS Virgin Australia has changed its call sign to "Velocity" from Kanga. The other that annoys me is Cathay Pacific, call sign Cathay. The program calls it something like cataa. I have tried many connetations & spelling of the call sign but Anna can't get her voice around Cathay. (I prevoiusle worked for this airline) The others I can get over OK. To change the call signs, open the airlines file in a txt program, Notepad or notepad++ do the changes, then save it. I suggest you save the old airlines file for future reference if required. Kev M
