  1. Regarding the ADIRS, this has been something that I have thought about for some time. I am not an ATC controller but I would have thought that at AP's like KPHL where all of the movement area is on one side, the ADIRS display in the twr would have been the same as seen from the twr windows. i.e the tower basically faces Sth & the ADIRS in the program is showing Nth up as they all do in the Tower program airports. Surely an A/c taxiing from a R/H terminal as viewed from the window should show on the ADIRS in the tower as coming from the right, not have to determine its position from a display that is sort of upside down. Also an A/C landing on 27 L/R is seen coming from the right from the twr but shows up coming from the left on the ADIRS. The ground controller would want to see the ADIRS display in front of him/her as seen from the tower window. not reversed in any way. If I am wrong, someone will surely let me know in a big way. Enjoying KLAS. Kev M
  2. There was a problem with Tower 2011 where a flight arrived and departed using the same flight number in the same session, the second flight was normally ignored. To fix this it was necessary to change one of the flight numbers to a unique number. This took quite a lot of effort. especially for operators like OO etc. where there were a lot of these flights. Ques. Is this still a problem with Tower 3DPro as LAS has several of the flights. Also there are a couple of duplicate flight in the schedule. These are easy to delete but going through the schedule making sure there are no duplicate flight numbers by the same operator can be quite time consuming. Maybe I'm getting lazy Kev M
  3. I have mentioned this many times before, but it still occurs in every Real Traffic update. I never install any new airport or update to the Real Colour or Real Traffic without first putting them into a spare folder & going through them for errors like listed above. Also backing up all my files that are in use. As I do individual schedules for each airport I never us the published ones as they don't cover some flights. I compare the new airlines file with the current one that I use & amend the current one as required, if required. This makes sure there are no redundant or fallen flag airlines in them. For the ICAO & IATA codes, in real life there are duplicates & if you look at them closely, they usually are airlines that would not operate in the same area. I just delete or // out those who would not operate into the airports on Tower. Even the terminal files sometimes need tweaking. After tweaking, you can copy them into the correct folder. How many times do we need to tell Nyerges about these airlines that no longer exist or duplicates. On another note & requested before, how hard would it be for FeelThere to post a sticky with theirs & Nyergers latest program revision/SP so we don't have to go through the process of going into the purchasers websites to find out that you already have the latest version. Also we would know when a new version is published. As long as we don't go as far as Microsoft & force updates to you. Next job is to download KLAS, & get it up & running. Kev M
  4. To add my 2 cents to the grouping discussion: Below is an extract from the Australian AIP Dated May 2017. Grouping is the preferred call sign method here as well "4.16.1 Within Australian airspace, “group form” is the preferred means of transmitting callsign/flight number. Group form should also be used with military and other aircraft using a rootword callsign with numeric suffix. "
  5. A small trap for schedule creators is A/C arriving & departing using the same flight numbers. This is mostly "Express" or "Connection" type operators. In Tower 2011 & 3D is probably the same, if one operators A/C arrives & departs in the same session with the same flt nbr, the departure one may not move from the terminal or be ignored because the game has already handled an A/C of that operator with that flt nbr. What I do is go through the schedule & change any duplicate flt nbrs on one operator to make them all unique. That way all flights are recognised. To do this I import the .txt file to Excel & manipulate it there, then convert it back to a .txt file. All this might seem old hat to the older players but might be of value the newer guys making their own schedules. Kev M
  6. Agrajag Sorry I was a bit slow getting back As I made the schedule from scratch, although the data come from flight aware I feel I can share it without causing any problems with copyright. My KPHL .txt file is attached. A little hint: If you want to Stop an A/C appearing in the game but not delete it from the list open a text editor and put // in front of the entry. It will be ignored. This is handy for when the schedule is too busy for you to handle but don't want to delete the A/C from the schedule. Kev M kphl_schedule.txt
  7. Nole JP. Do a google search on the airport you are interested in. One hit is a Wikipedia for that A/P site. Open that. It gives you a list of the operators into the airport & the cities they serve. It is reasonably accurate & updated regularly. That's how I make sure that I don't miss out on an airline in mt home made schedules. Kev M
  8. Agrajag, To help explain why the cargo A/C turn the wrong way exiting the runway:- The logic in tower 2011 was that arriving A/C always exited the runway towards the side with the most gates. I guess the same logic was applied to Tower 3D. That's why all the A/C turn off towards the passenger terminal. As Willem said, use the vacate right command for the cargo terminal. I use KPHL a lot and have both cargo arrivals & departures. Depends on schedule time. I always make my schedules using flight aware schedules, suitably modified to make it more realistic. Have fun Kev M
  9. To Mike T I bought a $35 plantronics headset from JB Hi Fi. The ear pad foam all fell apart. I then bought a $9.00 internet headset from Coles. It works fine & for that price, replacement is easy. Still using it after many months/years. Kev M
  10. OK guys, nice to see more airports coming online, but what about us in the down-under land of Australia. What about Sydney (YSSY). Lots of movements and operators. Interesting airport for parallel runway ops with cross runway sim ops at same time. It would probably be upside down to you guys.though. (Only Joking). Keep up the good work.
  11. Amit' Your right, a tracon controller (arrival in my part of world) would normally send an A/C to a runway suitable of its operation (length etc.). FeelThere Tower does not have that function and randomly sends A/C to the specified active runways. What I do at airports like KPHL that have short runways not suitable for all traffic is to activate one or more runways that will take all A/C and manually vector the smaller types to the shorter runway. That way you can control what operates on the short runways. KBOS is another example (in Tower2011) with Runways 15L,33R & 14,32 being short. It adds to the game. Another interesting thing is if you have a slow A/C arriving in front of a jet on the same runway, the jet can easily run into the back of the slow A/C if you are not careful. All good fun Kev M
  12. Amit it is not a bug. If you set a runway as the default runway then all traffic will try to land on that runway. Runway 26 at kphl is only 5000ft. To short for most aircraft. Set runway 27L or 27R as the default runway, then send suitable traffic (cessna etc.) to Rwy26. Hope this helps Kev M
  13. KPHL crashed in the middle of the session. I received a message on the main screen that the game had crashed with a reference to a folder with the attached folder. I missed getting a screen shot of the message but the folder was 2017-07-29_203752 which is now located in the Tower! 3D Pro folder. Can someone put some light on what is happening here. I have never seen this before as in previous times the program has crashed, there has been no message like this. Interesting Kev M crash.dmp error.log output_log.txt
  14. John, Most times that I have seen the problem, there is an A/C in the control panel. I will have a closer look next time. It does need looking at by Feelthere. Obviously more players are seeing this problem that first thought. Kev M
  15. I have had the same problem. Usually you can clear it by hitting the clear button on the Control Panel. This seems to work. I don't know what causes it though. Kev M
  16. Just a small note for nyergesdesign. PBN, DJ, BLUEBIRD, Pacific Blue, New Zealand, is no longer. It is now part of Virgin Australia using the VA codes. Basically please delete it from the database on the hotfix. Kevin M
  17. Easy, What I do is give the int'l flights a different IATA & ICAO assignment. e.g. in Tower 2011, I assigned United int'l flights to ICAO UAH. & then assigned UAH to the appropriate terminal. I kept the same callsigns. Also this works for cargo A/C i.e Cathay Pacific cargo flights are ICAO CPC IATA CY (from memory). I also change the call to CATHAY CARGO to remind me that it is going to the cargo terminal on landing. A problem with Tower 3D is that a particular A/C may not have a RT colour so might appear white but it will go to the correct terminal. Have a fiddle around with it. Kev M
  18. I am not sure about posting these as most of the content is Nyerges work. If I publish it there might be a copyright issue here. I have gone though the latest SP on RT & found several old problems still exist, such as US airways still in list, TED still in list, The entries for Virgin Australia are all completely wrong. Several defunct airlines still in list. & others. I have thought about culling the list to those operators who would reasonably be expected to operate into various airports & re-adding them later if needed at a new airport. For example, some weird operators in Tanzania would probable not operate into the large US airports. They could be removed but not deleted. If they did start to operate, they could be reinstated. this might keep the file small & better manageable. Kev M
  19. Sorry if I seem to have hijacked the subject, from the speech subject but the way I have fixed all the .txt files is to make a master .txt file for airlines, airplanes & airports.txt files. I keep these files in .xlsx format & amend as required. After amendment, convert them to .csv, then .txt files. I then move these to all the extension folders & rename them to the various airport names. i.e. kjfk_airplanes.txt etc. This ensures all the airports have the latest .txt files. A bit fiddly but works for me.
  20. I have noticed to Speech recognition is quite often slow to start as well. When the sim starts & the first A/C calls, I pause the sim and wait for about 10 seconds or so. By then the speech is up and running. Where did you guys get that startup music?? I agree that the speech recognition does seem to improve over time with use. For Vic, On the SP2 issue, I was not aware that a clean install was a requirement (although it would be good practice) & there does not seem to be any instructions to this effect in the installation files. Keep up the good work. It is improving with each patch/SP. Kev M
  21. For information to those who might be having problems with hanging at Start, I completely redid the KPHL schedule using Flight Aware and it was hanging at 72% on start. After some checks I found it would start at certain start times and not others i.e 0600-0900 hangs. After 0900 all good. Had to be a problem with the schedule file. Turned out it was an A359 A/C that is not in the aircraft file. It arrived around 0830. Changed it to an A333 & it all works fine now. I had changed the departure to an A333 but missed the arrival. So, lesson is if you have changed either the Terminal or schedule .txt file, make sure the aircraft types and airlines etc. are all covered in the airline, aircraft .txt files. Also the RT file really needs to be updated to reflect the Airbus 350 series A/C, (generic will do). Also the RC for QATAR who operate the type into KPHL. Kev M
  22. I agree. It is easy to miss a "ready to taxi" call if it is busy. If after taxi instructions are issued, it would be helpful to have a "taxiing" display or something similar to indicate that the A/C has been cleared to taxi. Perhaps another for SP XXX. Any other displays as Futureboy suggests would of course make te even better. Kev M
  23. I have experienced the same at JFK. A/C arriving RWY 13L & exiting at t/way D, seem to take forever to move after the Taxi to Terminal CMD. Sometimes It it so long that I re give the command in case it didn't register. Of course following A/C tend to stack up behind or go around as Mickey2Damouse says. Also it creates a problem if an a/c has landed long & is taxiing in on T/way B. You think there is plenty of room between the two but the one clearing via T/way D takes sooooo long to move that they can collide. I don't know if there is a fix for this as feelthere says, it is all in the time reqd. for calculating the pathfinding. Still a great program and is improving with every patch. SP etc. KevM
  24. Yep sure is. I have heard it in BNE ATC. I think they usually specify specify landing operator & A/c type on final but at times just say, Line up behind landing A/C. e.g. Velocity XXX behind the landing QANTAS 737, line up & wait. Ref Aust. AIP Gen3.4.13 item 4.5 conditional clearances. The WAIT condition is also used as part of the phraseology as per AIP gen 3.4 Whether it is used in the FAA system. I don't know. Kev M
  25. I noticed the gate problems back to Tower2011. I make my schedules from a download of a typical day taken from flight aware, massaged etc. & turned into a text file. In 3D Pro I like to work JFK but with around 1100 movements a day it gets hard to manage at peak times. I have reduced the movements to about 45 per hr. This is comfortable to work & I have time to watch the aircraft taxi & enjoy the scenery so as to speak. I culled some of the DAL & JBU flights by putting // in front of the text entry. This can easily be changed by just removing the // sign to put them back. As a side issue, it appears that most of the terminal occupancy problems have gone away as there are not so many flights to fight for space at the terminal. Unfortunately tower doesn't have the :"tow & stow" facility where long staying A/C can be moved to a parking area until the departure time approaches, then put back on to the terminal position a couple of hrs before departure. That would really make it interesting for the ground controller. Something to think about Kev M
