  1. I've never seen the Clear setting produce winds of more than 2-3 knots. If you are definitely using Clear and not Random, then are the weather definitions defined at the airport level? Is Clear at KLAX below 3 knots and at EGLL at 10-15 knots? Unfortunately, there is no information in the manual regarding the main menu or settings screens. So, who knows the method to the madness. Personally, I want to be able to setup the game with weather that allows me to define the runway configuration of my choosing. If the limited weather options available doesn't allow me to do that, then I would consider this a bug. And, again, if this is controlled at the airport level I think it needs to be tweaked. @Pedantic G, thoughts?
  2. Just select Clear for the Forecast and you'll have calm winds allowing you to choose whatever runway setup you want.
  3. @MJKERRThe weather is “random” regardless of the runway operations you choose. So I wouldn’t necessarily call this a T!3DP issue either. The devs would say it is working by design.
  4. Oh don’t worry G, you’ll always be Captain Pedantic to me. 🤣
  5. I’m not a developer and I don’t own OMDB. All I can tell you is what normally works best.
  6. Your first flight needs to be a departure.

Where is it posted? Sharing is a two way street.
  8. Do you really think @hexzed is being serious?
  9. Unless there has been an earthquake or other major geological shift this morning, Mexico (Mexico City) is still in North America. 🤣
  10. Despite <sarcasm>grateful and appreciative users like yourself</sarcasm>, the developer announced several months ago no new airports would be added. Keep in mind the developer did all this work for free and on his own time and for justifiable reasons made the decision. You are welcome to get caught up on things starting with Eligrim’s post on October 14, 2020 in this thread.
  11. Something like that should be part of the airport design, rather than part of the schedule. But, we’ll see.
  12. Yep, a custom schedule that comes with a “bonus special livery” will be a fun novelty. The possibilities are endless with Southwest, Frontier, Norwegian, various Star Wars, and Icelandair’s awesome Northern Lights coming to mind. Here is just a small sampling of some fun liveries for your viewing pleasure: https://thepointsguy.com/news/best-airline-liveries/
  13. @FeelThereThanks for the explanation Vic, looks very promising - covers everything that was asked for as best as I can tell. 👍 In your attached image, the approach altitude override (feet) column has me intrigued. I’m struggling to think what this could be for.
  14. To directly answer your questions and add upon what has been shared by @scoobflight and @hexzed: No. If you listen to LiveATC (for your airport or any other airport for that matter) you will never hear them say United Express or Delta Connection. Looking at a few flights for KSRQ this evening, you'd more than likely hear the callsigns of Brickyard (Republic) and Air Shuttle (Mesa). Real Traffic and custom schedules both reflect correct use of regional carrier callsigns. Due to game limitations, Real Color basically only allows for one livery per carrier/plane type. This is not optimal since several of the regional airlines operate for more than one major carrier. SkyWest, for example, operates for Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. So, for SkyWest the decision was made to use SkyWest's own livery instead of one of the major's. One could argue that it was the wrong choice, but based on game limitations there is no right choice. You've been around long enough to know that the hope for developer based enhancements/improvements to T!3DP died 3 years ago. There are workarounds (like hexzed's), but to get one thing (more accurate terminal assignments) there is a cost (no liveries). But there is no workaround to get 100% accurate liveries for any regional airline that operates for more than one major carrier. There were multiple wishlist items addressing the handling of regional airlines. Vic hinted that most of our "schedule related requests" made the "must" list. But we'll still just have to wait and see if regional airline improvements make the cut or not.
  15. No, the game only allows for two controller positions. More than two controllers is/was on the wishlist for the next version. We’ll see if it makes the cut.
  16. @Ron C There's really nothing out of sync here. The time on the selection menu is UTC time and is clearly documented in the manual. The times included in the schedule file are local and also clearly documented in the manual. Regarding sidstar_cfg.txt, it's not a required file. So I'm certain if the file is not used or, if used, a route is not included then the game will choose a SID or STAR for you. If you are unsure and/or want to verify this, the log file contains information on the SIDs and STARs it picks for a flight. I personally see no reason for @EliGrim to even consider updating SB to accommodate Tracon especially since it is approaching 10 years old, has a relatively small customer base, and to do it "right" would be a substantial effort.
  17. @Ron C A new thread may not be a bad idea. As @EliGrim mentioned it could be beneficial to others and allow input from others also. For the record, I'm cool with PMs also.
  18. I think you're definitely close enough. There are exceptions, but the predominant use is as follows. In south flow, G and K are used for northbound traffic and in north flow they are used for southbound traffic. Regardless of flow, F and L are northbound north of WL/EL and southbound from WL/EL to the bridges. Yep, just looking at it you'd think FDX would get plenty of use out of this runway. But even during off hours when KDAL has little to no traffic, the runway isn't used due to voluntary noise abatement procedures.
  19. Sure, there are procedures for it. But as I said, if the 17s and 18s are open (challenging or not) then 13L is not used.
  20. @Ron CThanks, it was the phrase "across the terminal area taxi routings" that I was unclear on. KDFW is my home airport so I am very familiar with the operations there. Obviously, if one wants to operate realistically then there will definitely be the need for east-west and vice versa taxi routings. Regarding the bridges, in real life eastbound traffic uses Y and A while westbound traffic uses Z and B. I originally learned of this flow several years ago when listening to LiveATC in order to build a ground routes reference document for the Tower!2011 version of KDFW. Later, I confirmed this flow with the Low Visibility Taxi Route Charts from Jeppesen and VATSIM SOPs. Also since you and @DeltaVII both mentioned it, runway 13L is basically "never" used. It can only be used in extremely severe crosswind conditions when the 17s/18s are all closed. During typical south flow a departure from 13L would feed straight into the flight path for KDAL (Love Field) which is only a few miles away. Additionally, arrivals to 13L would cross the flight path of all the 17s/18s so, again, making it pretty much unusable. However, it is not uncommon to see 31R used in north flow but for arrivals only. Also, on the subject of runway closures: 18R/36L is closed at the moment for a rehab project. It has been reported that it could open this month for day use while still being closed at night through May 2021.
  21. Could you clarify what you mean by this (i.e., example)?
  22. Although the times in the schedule are local, for Tower!2011 and Tracon!2012 the time you select on the menu is UTC. Also, FYI, the gaandlocaltraffic file is not used in Tracon!2012.
  23. I think Eligrim is finished modifying the tool, but the schedules created can be used for Tower!2011 or Tracon!2012. Of course you'd more than likely need to update the airlines, airplanes, and airport files too since the RT data is very old.
  24. If you want to operate KLAX realistically right now, runway 7R/25L is closed temporarily (along with two taxiways on the south side) for runway renovations. https://simpleflying.com/lax-runway-overhaul/ Below is the closure info from the current D-ATIS : RWY 2 5 LEFT 7 RIGHT CLSD. TWY H CLSD BTN TWY, G AND TWY J TWY G CLSD BTN TWY H AND TWY A TWY A8 CLSD BTN RWY 25L AND TWY A TWY H8 CLSD BTN RWY 25L AND TWY H, TAXIWAY HOTEL 5 CLOSED.
