Timonier Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 Hello Pete, John and everybody, A lot of info given by Microsoft regarding FS2020 today I put here the different links of those articles : https://fselite.net/news/boeing-787-10-confirmed-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/ https://fselite.net/previews/new-previews-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/ https://fselite.net/originals/confirmed-list-of-all-detailed-airports-coming-to-microsoft-flight-simulator/ https://fselite.net/news/microsoft-flight-simulator-release-date-and-pricing-confirmed/ Date of release : the 18th of August 😉 Best Regards Marc
ovy1113 Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 Looking forward for some official information regarding FSUIPC compatibility with this one. As a developer that relies on it, I am very interested to find out more. Best regards! Ovidiu
cellular55 Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 +1 FSUIPC compatibility is fundamental to decide if to get it or not KR Joe
John Dowson Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 We have an alpha version of FSUIPC for MSFS (FSUIPC7) which has been released to third party devs who have access to MSFS Alpha. Still a lot to do though, and we're a bit surprised that the release is so soon. We're currently getting very little feedback from Asobo on the SimConnect facilities, and there is still no documentation on key event/control names. I'll post an update when we get more information (or a documented SDK) from Asobo/Microsoft. Cheers, John
ovy1113 Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 Hi @John Dowson ! That is great news! Looking forward to test my software with the new version. Thank you very much for the info and I will be checking the forum regularly for updates. Best regards, Ovidiu Ocnaru
Tom-D Posted July 14, 2020 Report Posted July 14, 2020 It must by one superior alpha cycle at MS to have a beta cycle of just three weeks! (Of course, it could be like Google where no product has ever been released from beta!) That said, I have preordered the Premium Deluxe MSFS2020 (in for a pence, in for a pound) and would do the same for FSUIPC if a preorder was made available.
galaio Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 Great news. Already got MSFS, waiting for fsuipc 🙂
archen Posted July 15, 2020 Report Posted July 15, 2020 Great news. Following upcoming updates. Many thanks for your work.
vegasjon777 Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 If you need anyone to help test and if its even allowed, I am an Alpha tester for MSFS2020 and would be happy to do whatever is needed...

The only thing preventing a proper Alpha/Beta test of FSUIPC7 at present is a missing SimConnect.DLL which is only available to developers. We'd like to include it but haven't got permission yet. 😞 Pete

You currently need this to access the SimConnect.dll. If so, I can PM you the post (including link) so that you can start using/testing. If not, maybe try and request this access to Asobo and explain why you need this - we've been waiting for around 4 weeks now for permission to include the SimConnect.dll, but still no response. John
vegasjon777 Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 I'll check the Dev forums and see what may be available.

John Dowson Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 Just now, Pete Dowson said: Developer access means having a menu at the top of your MSFS window with a Help option in which you can download the SDK installer. Not quite...you need 'developer privileges' to be able to see the "DEVELOPERS' options in Options->General menu screen, where you can then turn on "DEVELOPER MODE" to gain access to the developer menu bar. John

Oh yes. Forgot you had to turn it on! 😞 Pete
vegasjon777 Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 Ok, I checked the Dev forums and only 3rd-party developers can request the SDK through Asobo. I have this email but dont know if it will help msfsim@microsoft.com

John If your request was by email, after four weeks I'd try sending another email just in case the first one got 'lost' somehow. 😉 Al
John Dowson Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 Asobo are aware of the issue and we have been informed that the team will be contacting us "soon". That was 10 days ago.
SBaker Posted July 18, 2020 Report Posted July 18, 2020 Hopefully CLS2SIM works with FS2020.. force feedback :D
Stinger2k3 Posted July 25, 2020 Report Posted July 25, 2020 Thanks for keeping us informed of what is (or not) happening with regards to FSUIPC7. I suspect as per previous versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator this will be an inavluable tool. I also suspect that my home cockpit will not be "seen" by the base sim so I will await the release of FSUIPC7 to get fully up and running. Hopefully someone at ASOBO will realise the importance of your involvement to us all. Regards Keith
Roland Posted August 3, 2020 Report Posted August 3, 2020 LittleNavMap works well with the closed Beta of MSFS using Simconnect, maybe you could use the same dll?
John Dowson Posted August 3, 2020 Report Posted August 3, 2020 2 minutes ago, Roland said: LittleNavMap works well with the closed Beta of MSFS using Simconnect, maybe you could use the same dll? No. That doesn't use a 64-bit SimConnect.dll. It uses the old 32-bit SimConnect.lib. We can't go back to 32-bit. John
