  1. A little hint - FeelThereDev on Steam and FeelThere on this forum are the same person. So, I don't think you're going to get much more than what you already got - "Yes we remove airplanes but we also add some random factors too." I agree you are asking a simple question, but you are wanting much more than a simple answer. Knowing that this is a competitive market with competitors lurking everywhere (even as forum members), I just don't think a detailed "how" answer can be expected. I apologize if my suggestion offended you.
  2. Right there with you - I'm in the "get a life" category myself. :) I think the key point in your post is "I simply have reservations that it works properly". Very simply - prove it. I've been known to deep dive into a bug when I think I've found one and deliver a "forensic examination" when needed. But I do it because I enjoy it and to provide as much information to the developers as possible to ultimately get it fixed. Might I suggest you try the same? Whether it is just saving and sending in log files from sessions or doing a deep dive analysis, I think it is a good exercise which could get you closer to the how.
  3. To help set gazza2868's expectations, how long does it take you to make your custom schedules?
  4. In this sim, tower is contacted when planes are on final - in this case it is always a 20nm final no matter what sector they are coming from. Besides, at least for the airports of the size that are in the sim, what you are requesting would more than likely be the job of an approach controller.
  5. I noticed you asked this same question on Steam and obviously didn't get the answer you wanted from the developers. To be honest, I don't think they are going to give away the ingredients to their special sauce? Obviously, you are asking this for a reason. Maybe if you share the reason, the forum community can help solve whatever schedule situation you are dealing with.
  6. I think what ml0130 is trying to say is that FeelThere will usually post on the forums when an update is available. But as scoobfight mentioned, you'll use your orginal download links to actually download the update.
  7. FeelThere was testing out out a new forum. It's obviously not being used. And if you look closer it was not solely for 3D.
  8. The bug has been reported - http://forum.simflight.com/topic/84637-air-collision-alert-for-two-aircraft-behind-each-other/ Personally, I don't worry about the points. I don't have the steam version, but for me the points are irrelevant - except to my ego on occasion. But with all the scenario testing I do, I constantly have a high negative total. The best feature in the sim for me is the reset stats button. ;) Separation is not airport specific. Not sure if it is time based or number of posts based, but eventually your upload limits will increase.
  9. Not exactly true. For incoming planes when there is no free terminal is does not auto-delete them. They are in a virtual holding pattern (you'll see multiple no free terminal messages for a flight) until a gate frees up. With SP3 the sim is continually checking to see if a gate is free - an over 100x improvement over SP2.
  10. Yep, I've been doing this since Tower!2011 came out. Starting with the full real traffic or custom schedule, I'll extract a few hours out and create a new file. Works like a charm.
  11. To help with your review - the issue is the following entry in your GA file: KLAS, MGGT, 15:33, H23, N718SJ, 0, 0, 0, 718SJ, SEVEN ONE EIGHT SIERRA JULIET Looks like you have a typo in the plane type - H23 is invalid - according to FlightAware N718SJ is an H25B / H25.
  12. That's why I like to play using "snippets" of a schedule versus using a full schedule - no matter if it is the RT schedule or a custom schedule. Assuming you are only interested in playing for an hour or two, It reduces the no free terminal issue by not having to load 6 hours of flights. The airport can sometimes look a little empty, but the flight volume definitely increases. I'm attaching a snippet example of the JFK schedule that includes only 3 hours - 17:00, 18:00, and 19:00. The table below shows the results when starting the sim at 18:00. Before SP3 the difference was greater, but even with the latest version gate availability issues still rears its ugly head. kjfk_schedule_18.txt
  13. I believe there are gate settings that limit the size of aircraft that can park there. If there are pushback issues at a gate, FeelThere has mentioned they will use these settings. These gates could be set to where they are only usable by props. "it would be nice if the sim could read the schedules and use incoming aircraft for outgoing flights" The sim already does this. If you look at your log you'll see the following entries (fyi - there are many more than this) where this takes place. Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: CPZ5975 - 06:08:00 outgoing: CPZ5918 - 07:15:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: AAL298 - 05:49:00 outgoing: AAL118 - 07:13:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: AAL14 - 05:51:00 outgoing: AAL2453 - 07:11:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: AAL182 - 13:14:00 outgoing: AAL215 - 21:41:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: VIR7 - 14:07:00 outgoing: VIR24 - 21:06:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: LAN600 - 12:29:00 outgoing: LAN601 - 16:13:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: JAL60 - 11:30:00 outgoing: JAL69 - 13:58:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: AMX19 - 11:28:00 outgoing: AMX647 - 13:50:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: ACA791 - 10:44:00 outgoing: ACA792 - 12:31:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: UAL1281 - 05:02:00 outgoing: UAL1802 - 07:03:00 Restarter airplanes / parent incoming: UAL1706 - 04:54:00 outgoing: UAL407 - 06:14:00 However, it does look like there could be an issue with FeelThere's logic. I though the sim was optimized for 6 hours of flights. So, for example, using the plane from AAL182 for a flight occurring 8 hours later (AAL215) doesn't seem to follow the stated optimization There are several other example of this, although I'm not sure how this impacts the "no free terminal" conundrum.
  14. Your comment is interesting regarding LAX, because the tower is in the middle and runways are north/south of it. So, when dealing with the north complex I would think the ADIRS and DBRITE would reflect what you see out the window. However, I could see some confusion when you have to swivel and handle the south complex. This topic was discussed very heavily in the thread below. The radars have north on top - you'll adapt and get used to it. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/84121-rotate-adirs-display/
  15. Looks like you have real traffic, so you should have a terminal file. You may need to redownload/reinstall real traffic.
  16. Development has stopped on this version of Tower (see my reply to you in another post) , so by the time you would get a cleaner solution you should be well past needing a slider that goes below 50%. I don't normally recommend this since the data it uses is getting old, but it looks like the Schedule Creator (http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76191-tower-schedule-creator-24-v1-released-includes-cyyz/) might be a viable option for you. You can use it to set the flight volumes as low or high as you want. Also, at some point you may want to consider multiplayer for more realistic (theoretically, less stressful) game play. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83242-tower_mp-meeting-place-for-the-multiplayer-community/
  17. Wayne, Just wanted to set your expectations as you've been quite busy on the forum. Development on Tower!3D Pro is complete. The focus is on airport development and bug fixes. However, there is mention of a next version (Tower!3d XXX) somewhere down the line. At the point they are ready, FeelThere will open up a topic for suggestions. Your asks/requests are certainly valid, but mostly fall in the "next version" category.
  18. I believe this hold line was added as part of an SP related to this post. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/84337-kbos-2-issues-found Additional tweaking needed?
  19. You still have to download the game and run it on a operating system that supports it. So, unless the TV has a built in hard drive and OS you'd be limited to browser-based or TV app games.
  20. Will your 85 inch TV still be connected to a PC?
  21. Check out this topic. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83887-tower3d-pro-running-in-a-virtual-machine
  22. The issue with no logfiles is the security settings you have on the Tower!3D Pro folder and all the subfolders. Right click on the folder and select Properties. From there, click on the Security tab. Unfortunately I can't remember the group you need to modify, but all the settings (Full control, Modify, Read & execute, etc.) except Special permissions need to be checked under Allow.
  23. You can't change the mouse function via the Tower software, but you can potentially change the panning via your mouse/control panel. I have a Logitech M705 and using SetPoint I have changed my button 8 to function as the Middle Button allowing me to use it for panning instead of the scroll wheel.
  24. You can backup up your old terminal file, but yes I would replace your existing one with the one I provided. I assume you mean there are a lot more airlines (not flights) in the RT terminal file than the one I provided. To be honest, this is irrelevant. There are no flights for BTQ, EDV, ASQ, RPA, AWI, ASH, AFR, KLM, COA, DLH, QTR, THY, ACA, and ABX in the RT schedule for KLAS so there is no need for them in the terminal file. However, the RT schedule has flights for AAY, EJA, CPZ, HAL, ROU, SCX, UAL, AMX, CFG, CHH, CMP, VOI, VRD, and WJA. These are not in the RT terminal file, but are in mine.
