  1. What I have heard from ATC at the larger airports like LAX and DFW is ground instructs the pilot to monitor the tower's frequency as part of the taxi to runway instructions. So there is no request for departure in this case, tower initiates the next communication.
  2. Multiplayer adds a whole new dimension to the sim ... it's a blast! Furthermore, I'd like to recommend joining the Tower_MP community to assist in arranging some practice sessions in anticipation of the KBOS release. Check out the pinned thread below for more information. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83242-tower_mp-meeting-place-for-the-multiplayer-community/ Craig
  3. I'm seeing a lot of flights (140+ in the schedule file) for an airline with the callsign of PINNACLE (ICAO PIL) at KJFK. When looking at the kjfk_airlines.txt file I see the following entry: "PIL, 9E, PINNACLE, Canada Jet Charters, Canada". The best I can tell Pinnacle ceased to exist in 2013 and became Endeavor Air in 2013 operating under the callsign of FLAGSHIP (ICAO FLG). There is no entry for FLAGSHIP in the airlines file. In October 2016, Endeavor Air dropped the FLAGSHIP callsign and began using ENDEAVOR (ICAO EDV, IATA 9E). So, bottom line, we have another example of very old schedule and airlines files. I'd appreciate FeelThere's help bringing this to Nyerges' attention as they aren't very responsive to us little people. Thanks, Craig PS - I haven't analyzed the rest of the airlines in the schedule, but give me time. ;) PS#2 - PINNACLE shows up at KPHL too.
  4. Interesting, I've never had a issue with C (Charlie) ... only the double digit taxiways like C10, Ironically at KSAN I have no issues with B10 (BRAVO ONE ZERO). Go figure!
  5. Another good example is a FDX arrival at JFK. The cargo gates are spread out all over the airport ... there's no way to issue an initial detailed taxi command. I'd also like to be able to assign airlines to specific gates or gate groupings rather than just a terminal. But, that's a whole 'nother can of worms!
  6. Vic, I'm going to steal Ricky's thunder but we have found the issue with Pro multiplayer. It is using port 22222 instead of 21112. We'd appreciate an emergency fix or a fix as soon as possible to correct the issue. We were never able to connect using port 21112, but when we changed the rule to 22222 we then were able to connect. But as discussed in the following thread, http://forum.simflight.com/topic/82796-tower3d-pro-multiplayer-port-assignment/ port 22222 is not a good port to use. The thread mentions it was fixed, but looks like it needs to be fixed again. Thanks, Craig PS - The online manual still references 22222 in one section and 21112 in another.
  7. Looking at the game.log there is a Win23Exception on towerspeakbridge.exe. Looking at other threads - if you have Kaspersky or other security program, you may have to trust towerspeakbridge.exe.
  8. Anyone else experiencing this?
  9. I've experienced the same thing.
  10. I've wondered the same thing.
  11. If I try to issue a heading that is less than 100 degrees, it is not recognized/translated correctly. For example, if I say AFTER DEPARTURE FLY HEADING ZERO NINER ZERO, the 090 is translated to a 0 and then the pilot responds "Negative". In the same example if I drop the leading zero and just say NINER ZERO, it it is translated to 90 but the pilot still responds with "Negative". I've had no issues with headings >= 100. The translation of a wind direction less than 100 is similar. WIND is ZERO NINER ZERO at 5 KNOTS ... gets translated to 0 but the command is accepted. Dropping the leading zero is translated as 90 and again the command is accepted. I'd attach a speech log but it would only show you the translation and not what I actually said. If you run TIST at 16:00 and select runway 10, this issue is real easy to duplicate. Thanks, Craig
  12. I believe he ran the wrong installer ... an issue already on your radar to address.
  13. I was talking with lk1111 on Tower_MP and we figured out the issue.
  14. The game.log file gets created in the Tower!3D Pro folder when you run the sim using tower3d.bat. Some people don't see a game.log after running the bat file. Personally I've never had this issue. However, I have checked the "Run this program as an administrator" box on tower3d.exe and modified the security on the Tower!3D Pro folder to give myself "Full control" over the folder and all sub-folders..
  15. Nope, it's not allowed by the FAA. Here's an excerpt from FAA's Air Traffic Organization Policy (JO 7110.65W) : 3−9−4. LINE UP AND WAIT (LUAW) a. The intent of LUAW is to position aircraft for an imminent departure. Authorize an aircraft to line up and wait, except as restricted in subpara g, when takeoff clearances cannot be issued because of traffic. Issue traffic information to any aircraft so authorized. Traffic information may be omitted when the traffic is another aircraft which has landed on or is taking off the runway and is clearly visible to the holding aircraft. Do not use conditional phrases such as “behind landing traffic” or “after the departing aircraft.”
  16. Thanks Nicolas - I actually do have a gold subscription. Is this the area you are talking about to download schedules? I'm not seeing a download feature, but it can probably be screen-scraped. However, I still don't see the partner airlines. I do see United Express, American Eagle, etc. but what is the actual airline operating the flight?
  17. The only other suggestion I've seen work is to make sure your Speech Recognition status is "Off: Do not listen to anything I say".
  18. Interesting ... never thought the Flightradar24 layout was conducive to easily grabbing a days worth of flights as compared to FlightAware. Also, the callsigns all seem to be of the major carriers (i.e., no SkyWest Compass, Republic, Air Shuttle, etc.). I'd be curious to hear how you use Flightradar24 to build a schedule.
  19. I don't think a fix in the next SP is a guarantee. Vic did not say it is a problem with Tower - only that it is on the checklist. At this point, there will be a fix in the next SP only "if it's Tower's fault and not something local".
  20. Interesting ... I wouldn't think RT would impact voice/speech. I'd just recommend making sure to run pro as administrator - that seems to cure most voice and speech issues.
  21. Response #1 - swing and a miss! Response #2 - a double off the top of the wall - almost a home run! ;) There are several scenarios and you have provided what you think works best most of the time. If you are satisfied with the logic, then I can totally respect that. More importantly, I appreciate the thoughtful and respectful response. Craig
  22. Another good find Daniel. The fix should be in the next SP based on this post from Vic: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83196-tower3dpro-local-traffic-flight-strip-bug/?do=findComment&comment=502194. I created my own (i.e., custom) GA schedule for KPHL using TIST as a template. Looking forward to giving your workaround a try. Also, fyi, there should be a GA/local file for KSAN. Although, as I mentioned it the same thread above, it has a few issues. Craig
  23. Andrew, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I've been around this forum a while, have more years of software development experience than I'd like to admit, and because of that I have always presented thorough information regarding bugs and such. In this case I felt my time, effort, and intelligence were insulted by simply brushing my post as "one or two quirks". But as I said, I've got a work-around that I started using with Tower!2011 that minimizes this particular logic issue. So, I'm ok ... but can't speak for others.
  24. For the record, the example I provided was using the Nyerges schedule and there are easily more than one or two in the hour I tested and provided in the log. I'm sure I could find plenty of "quirks" for every airport using the provided schedules. I figured the code was complex but didn't figure on a close-mined response. But that's ok - I'll continue with my work-around and make smaller schedule files (I guess you would call this custom) in order to improve my 3D Pro experience.
  25. In another thread, Paul brought forth a problem he was having with traffic volume at TIST. In an attempt to see what he was experiencing, I started a TIST session at 13:00 and all 11 parking spots were full. Well, what this means is that there will be no arrivals until spots free up. Which is what happened. I'd have a departure and then an arrival would show up, but some arrivals got skipped because no gate was a available. So, I looked at the log and tried to figure out how the initial gates were allocated. I'm sure it's a tough algorithm to code but what I'm seeing is planes at the gate 2-3 hours in advance of their departure time. The most obvious example was JBU900 at gate 1. It had a departure time of 16:06. In reality this plane would not have even arrived at the airport yet (based on the schedule the incoming plane would arrive beginning at 14:38). I've seen full gates as a problem before but never really dug into it. It's a little clearer to me now what the cause is. Actually, what I've been doing is making smaller schedule files. For example, if I want to control starting at 13:00 I'll create a 3 hour schedule file that only has flights from 12:00 through 14:59. It works pretty well, but the airport can look/feel a little empty at times. I'm attaching the output_log.txt file from my session. This might be a tough egg to crack, but it looks like the initial gate assignment logic could use a little tweaking. Thanks, Craig output_log.txt
