  1. You may also want to look into your sound settings. My microphone was always reducing it's level and i had to go to the Communications setting under Sounds and change the setting to "Do nothing" when Windows detects communication activity. Also, under the Advanced properties of your speakers and/or microphone you may need to check/uncheck the boxes under Exclusive mode. Additionally, you may want to verify the level settings of your devices. Good Luck! Craig
  2. There are performance issues that still need to be addressed when using a second monitor. The ADIRS, Strip, and DBRITE still randomly close - I assume it is related to GPU memory issues of some form or fashion. For best results issuing voice commands the main 3D window should have focus. I run into the beep issue a lot if I try to issue a command after doing something on the ADIRS window. Once I click back on the main 3D window, I can issue a voice command with no issues. Additionally, when performance is real bad, I've noticed you need to pause a second or two after pushing left shift and prior to speaking. Craig
  3. The actual language on the KATL airport diagram states "Aircraft with wingspan greater than 171' are restricted from using Taxiway Victor." For Boeing it looks like that would mean the 747's, 777s, and 787s would not be permitted. For Airbus, it looks like the A330s and above would not be permitted.
  4. I noticed the same thing (see link to my post below). Sadly, there is no airplane editor with 3D Pro so that means we must rely heavily on Nyerges to get things right. Gulp! http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83182-real-color-air-wisconsin/
  5. Hmmm - is KBOS or KLAS number 6? Or is Vic going to lay a surprise on us? :) Interestingly, the KATL schedule file is dated 10/9/2016 so that tells me (1) some of the airports have been in the works for a while and (2) that the KATL schedule isn't as fresh as I had hoped.
  6. With RT and RC you have to be real careful on where you install your files. The default folders the install programs provides are quite often incorrect. To verify that your installs worked correctly, how many files do you see in your [3D Pro root]\Extensions\Airfields\KATL folder? You should probably see at least 12 files with katl_schedule.txt being the file that contains the real traffic schedule for KATL If you open that text file, the first record is a Delta flight 2650 - an M88. If you don't have 12 files or you don't see the schedule file or flight then there is an issue with your RT install. Also, what do you see in your [3D Pro root]\Extensions\Airplanes\Texturepacks folder? Do you have any files beginning with airplanes_texpackX where X is the number 6 or greater? If not, you have issues with your RC install. Note: More than likely KATL is 6 but since I haven't purchased RC for KATL I don't know for sure. Craig PS - Just to be clear the [3D Pro root] is the folder where tower3D.exe exists and you should also see the following folders: Extensions, mmwindow, and tower3d_Data.
  7. Looks like with the new version of RT Nyerges made an attempt to correct the airlines.txt files. Nyerges did correctly remove the PIL ICAO and replace it with EDV, but with the callsign of FLAGSHIP which ceased to exist in OCt 2016. The callsign should be ENDEAVOR. Close, but no cigar! PS - We're still seeing FEDERAL EXPRESS instead of FED EX and UNITED PARCEL SERVICE instead of U P S. Sure would be nice if we could get the airlines file cleaned up. We can do some of this manually but multiplayer needs each player to have the same file versions, so a cleaned official version would be the optimal solution.
  8. Bottom line though, someone new to the ATC Suite of products and add-ons may not realize exactly what is included in a new Real Color release. Unfortunately, Nyerges does not provide any details so it takes someone to actually buy the product to know what/if anything new is actually being delivered. Personally, I feel like an idiot for buying RC for KSAN. Again, it's not all about the money but it is also about the principle of buying something that I already had and didn't even know it. It may not be unscrupulous, but I definitely feel ripped off. But, as you said, not a big deal. I'll still sleep well tonight. And if/when I buy KATL (whenever it goes on sale) and I see a white plane I'll just imagine it's another group of prisoners flying through Atlanta. :)
  9. The price is $6.99 for RC for KATL basically making it $.10 a plane. So, for someone that has purchased the other real color add-ons the value of the 14 new planes at KATL adds up to $1.40. For comparison purposes, RC for KJFK got us about 60 new planes and RC for KSAN only got us 2 new planes. Both being sold for $6.99. Incredible! Seems to be an unfair pricing model - especially for loyal customers. Caveat emptor! Craig PS - I noticed this issue in Tower!2011 and was hoping it wouldn't carry over to Tower!3D. Unfortunately, it has. I really really hate white planes, but even though $6.99 is not a lot of money it does add up after a few airports. So, out of principal I think I'll pass on new RC purchases for a while.
  10. Can you share what new planes/liveries are included with RC for KATL (assuming you have RC for all the airports)? Thanks, Craig
  11. Is this what you saw? "Schedule Creator TRACON 11 includes the same airport data used in Schedule Creator 15 RFN. This version also lists a summary of airlines and their number of flights." If that's the case, you'll probably need to use the latest Tower Schedule Creator to get some San Diego flight data. However it won't include any satellite airport flight data.
  12. What new airplanes/liveries are included in RC for KATL?
  13. It is my understanding that Dick Parker's schedule maker can be used for Tower!3D and Tower!3D Pro. You just have to make sure you name the files correctly and put them in the correct folder.
  14. In Pro, the aircraft will automatically hold short of the runway. However, LGA is not out ... YET. In any of the Tower versions you cannot combine commands, so for 2011 you have to issue a taxi command followed by a hold command. Or as Henrik mentioned, you can use the airport editor (AIrfieldEd.exe) and modify some of the taxiways. Looks like the gate trg for the knot properties of taxiway P short of runway 22 is 4, 22. Possibly updating the gate trg for this and any other appropriate knots to 4, 13, 22 will do the trick for you. For more details on how to edit airports I'd suggest checking out the manual and look for posts on the forum where this has been discussed (more than likely well over a year ago) . Oh, and the #1 rule is to make a backup of the airport before you edit. I can vouch for this rule. :) Craig
  15. From what I've heard, it is supposed to be compatible. I don't have SE so I can't provide a first hand account.
  16. The game and the schedule uses local time. At the end of the file created by DP's SC is a summary and it uses UTC, so you'll need to apply the appropriate time difference to know the number of departures/arrivals for the local hour. At the top of the file, it shows the time difference. For LAX it appears to be UTC zone - 8.
  17. For Tower!2011, you can use the airplane editor to view/modify the takeoff and landing distances for the airplane models in question.
  18. LOL. As new airports are introduced, I'm curious what value the Real Color releases will bring to the table. In the case of ATL we already have the following planes for Delta: A319 A320 A333 B712 B738 B739 B752 B753 B757 B763 B764 B772 B77L MD88 MD90. What else is there? Maybe a 744? I guess we'll see. At some point though it's not worth forking over $6.99 for a Real Color airport release when it only includes one or two new planes/liveries.
  19. There was a bug with anything less than 100 degrees that has been fixed with the latest SP. Regarding your other comments I too have noticed that Pro does seem to have some departure procedures in place. However, in real life at JFK for example, there are some quicker turns that aren't quite replicated in the sim. That's about the only time I issue a departure heading. And in reality, at least at LAX and DFW, ATC will more than likely provide a RNAV fix clearance than an actual heading. As Robert Plant would say, "Ramble On".
  20. For the record, I'm enjoying it myself. :)
  21. I believe Rage figured it out. He was stating the sim does not accept the FAA's correct terminology as stated in 3-9-10b ... RUNWAY (number) AT (taxiway designator) CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF. Actually, for line up and wait the intersection is also supposed to be stated (3-9-4n).
  22. The manual for 2011 is more detailed and probably can provide some help to people playing Pro. Regarding headings, the tower's responsibility is for the initial departure heading(s) based on the departure procedure filed as part of the flight plan. Getting to the destination airport is the pilot's responsibility along with the help of other ATC along the way. For more information on departure headings and procedures I'd recommend visiting liveatc.net and listening to actual controllers and check out websites like airnav.com and flightaware.com and view the various charts available. Also, some folks have posted videos of their sessions with Pro - these can be useful training aids too. Watching videos would probably be the easiest way to learn commands and the different nuisances of the sim. Craig
  23. What I have heard from ATC at the larger airports like LAX and DFW is ground instructs the pilot to monitor the tower's frequency as part of the taxi to runway instructions. So there is no request for departure in this case, tower initiates the next communication.
