  1. Schedule Creator works for 3D, but as Dick has said himself he has no plans to update it. So, you can definitely use it to build traffic but keep in mind the schedules created are based on airport data (airlines, types, etc.) from five years ago or so.
  2. I don't think it will work. I tried something similar by putting the wind info prior to the cleared to land and couldn't get it to work. I was able to to put it after the cleared to land but that doesn't do you any good. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83894-increased-realism/?do=findComment&comment=507090
  3. The language translation is a little tough to follow, but it almost sounds like you are trying to control by looking at the field only (main display screen) without the use of the ADIRS. I'd like to use the main display more but the zoom and graphics need some improving. As a result, I'm focusing on the ADIRS probably at least 75-80% of the time. Nevertheless, you may want to attach a game.log and/or speech.log from one of your sessions and specifically pinpoint the issue you are having. It's really tough to help when someone shares generic/general issues versus a specific issue with examples/logs.
  4. The FAA allows for the use of anticipated separation. Here's a little blurb from the ATC policy document. 3−10−6. ANTICIPATING SEPARATION a. Landing clearance to succeeding aircraft in a landing sequence need not be withheld if you observe the positions of the aircraft and determine that prescribed runway separation will exist when the aircraft crosses the landing threshold. Issue traffic information to the succeeding aircraft if a preceding arrival has not been previously reported and when traffic will be departing prior to their arrival. EXAMPLE− “American Two Forty−Five, Runway One−Eight, cleared to land, number two following a United Seven−Thirty− Seven two mile final. Traffic will depart prior to your arrival.” “American Two Forty−Five, Runway One−Eight, cleared to land. Traffic will depart prior to your arrival.” NOTE− Landing sequence number is optional at tower facilities where the arrival sequence to the runway is established by the approach control.
  5. Not sure if this will go anywhere, but why not ask. Besides, 3D is all about pleasing the eye isn't it? Personally, I'd like to see Real Color stay up with the times and not be totally retro. As a result, what new liveries (I'm talking common and not special one-offs) would you like to see incorporated into Real Color? Here's a few off the top of my head: Spirit - yellow livery, introduced in 2014 ... would like to see at least one airplane type in the new livery especially when it's common to see planes in all three liveries at my local airport Alaska - redesigned livery was unveiled in Jan 2016 Air Canada - new livery was unveiled about the time Pro came out Rouge - Off topic, but need a RT fix. Their callsign is AIR CANADA instead of ROUGE. Swiss - what we have in the sim is the old "Swiss Air" brand if I'm not mistaken Frontier - new livery was introduced around the same time as Spirit in 2014. Craig PS - Good job on Frontier. I had it on my list (notice the strikeout) but then realized the A320 and A321 had the new livery while only the A319 is still in the "old" livery, which is probably realistic enough.
  6. There was some "controversy" when Pro was first released about the appearance of the Cactus call sign while using RT. The issue was (and still is) with the airlines.txt file as the IATA code of US appears for both Piedmont (PDT) and US Airways (AWE). It's obvious from the airplane type in the schedule file for KPHL that the intended airline is Piedmont, but some folks were hearing the Cactus callsign instead. Hopefully, Nyerges will clean up the airlines and refresh the schedules soon. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/82882-tower3d-pro-and-real-color/?do=findComment&comment=501812
  7. It almost sounds like you're playing the sim at 16X speed. I've never gotten the 50 point penalty for waiting too long and I feel like I have let planes sit for quite a while during busy times. The 16x issue could also be the problem with your go arounds too. I can't explain not showing up on the strip. Maybe you have a bad install and/or need to upgrade to the most current versions. The manual for Pro mentions nothing about points however through gameplay it appears you get +10 points for a successful departure/arrival, -100 for failure to contact departure, -500 for an incursion or lack of separation, and I guess -50 for waiting too long to pushback, etc. Personally, I don't let the points influence my enjoyment of the sim one way or the other. Some of the time they are my fault and other times they are due to something quirky with the sim. Craig
  8. If you have Tower!2011, there is a lot of information in the manual on how to use the Airfield editor (which should be in your Tower!2011 root folder) and the plane editor (which should be in the Airplanes folder). Personally, I never tried to take on the task of creating a new airport for Tower!2011 because the work seemed overwhelming. I did edit several airports mainly changing the way terminals/gates were defined in order to make it more realistic. I would love to be able to do that in Tower!3D. However, I can't even imagine what it would take to build an airport from scratch for Tower!3D. I envision it being about 10 times more involved with the 3D feature adding layers of complexity. No thanks ... I'll leave it up those more talented than I.
  9. No, cargo flights would be in the regular schedule file. Keep in mind, you can create or modify an existing schedule file and include as much cargo traffic as you want.
  10. GA traffic is located in kphl_gaandlocaltraffic.txt. Neither FeelThere nor Nyerges has provided GA traffic for KPHL. If you join the Tower_MP Discord server (see link below for details), I posted a GA file I created for KPHL. Otherwise, you'll want to use another file someone has created or build your own in order to see GA traffic. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83242-tower_mp-meeting-place-for-the-multiplayer-community/
  11. A "negative" response means you've said or sent the command too late - the AI pilot has already determined the exit it will take. Try sending or saying the command earlier - I'll say it pretty close to the time the plane is touching down and definitely before the successful landing message.
  12. From a sim perspective, I really haven't seen where the category type makes a difference. The manual talks a lot about separation on departures. However, you can have a Cessna take off immediately after an A380 has successfully departed without applying any "required" separation and you won't get dinged for it. Regarding the strips, they look similar to the strips in Tower!2011. Below is from the 2011 manual: Deciphering an ARRIVAL slip - Column 1: • Line one - aircraft call sign and flight number (see Airline identification codes) • Line two – equipment type (Aircraft identification codes ). Heavy aircraft will have their equipment type followed by /H (See The Theory Behind Air Traffic Control for discussion on aircraft separation rules.) • Line three – an arbitrary number assigned by the program that generates the strips Column 2: • Line 1 – a computer generated arbitrary number • Line 2 – expected arrival time reported in UTC. • Line 3 – flight level of aircraft when transferred to you by arrival control Column 3: • Line 1– destination airport • Line 2 – departure airport Column 4: • When the aircraft has been cleared to land a check mark will be shown in this datafield.. Column 5: • Lines 1 up to 3 – assigned runway. Will have a cross through when new runway is assigned. Deciphering a DEPARTURE slip - Column 1: • Line 1 – aircraft call sign (see Airline identification codes) • Line 2 – equipment type (see Aircraft Identification Codes for more information. Heavy aircraft will have their equipment type followed by /H (See The Theory Behind Air Traffic Control for discussion on aircraft separation rules.) • Line 3 – An arbitrary number assigned by the program that generates the strips Column 2: • Line 1 – a computer generated arbitrary number • Line 2 – time of departure, reported as UTC • Line 3 – flight level of aircraft when transferred to you by arrival control Column 3: • Line 1 – departure airport • Line 2 – destination airport Column 4: • Tower will display controller notes under these circumstances - ✔ For local flights the number of go-arounds, low approaches and touch and goes the plane will conduct. ✔ Display the assigned runway intersection for takeoff (see Ground commands, AT command). ✔ When you clear an aircraft for takeoff a check mark will be shown. Column 5: • Lines 1 up to 3 – assigned runway. Will have a cross through when new runway is assigned. Aircraft Identification Codes CODE COMMON_AIRCRAFT NAME SIZE BODY_DESIGNATION JTO Wide-body default jet H WIDE BODY JET JT1 Narrow-body default jet L NARROW BODY JET RJ1 Regional jet S REGIONAL JET TRP Turboprop S TURBOPROP PRP Propeller airplane S PROP
  13. For future reference, in each airport folder there is a file called xxxx_airlines.txt (where xxxx is the airport ICAO code). The format of the file is ICAO, IATA, call sign, airline, country. The call sign is how the sim should pronounce the airline piece of the flight number. Below is what you'll see for ELY. ELY, LY, ELAL, El Al Israel Airlines, Israel
  14. There is only one version of RT and there are several versions of RC which are airport specific. If all you have is RC for KPHL, then for Frontier the only liveries you'll see are the 320 and 321. Odds are the white plane you are seeing is a 319. And, again, no UPS liveries are included in RC for the three original airports. Any screenshots showing UPS liveries would indicate that the person has one or more of the Real Colors for KJFK, KSAN, and KATL.
  15. Regarding #2, assuming you have RC for the three original airports, no UPS liveries are included because no UPS flights were included in RT (another reason the RT schedules need updating). Using that same assumption, I'm not sure why Frontier is white. You should have a Frontier livery for a 319, 320, and 321.
  16. Hmmmm - I thought I had the most current Pro version (non-Steam). Mine is v1.1.132.1197 SP2. Can anyone confirm?
  17. Your real traffic did not get installed correctly. Check out these two posts: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83864-help-with-real-color/?do=findComment&comment=506988 http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83864-help-with-real-color/?do=findComment&comment=507052
  18. Looking at the FAA policy I couldn't find a specific taxiway routing example just using VIA either. If desired, a modification can be made to the tower3d.rec file in the tower root folder using a text editor (notepad) to implement the TAXI VIA phraseology. Looking at tower3d.rec we currently have two options for intersection departures: #airplane1; RUNWAY ;#runway1; AT ;#taxiway1 #airplane1; RUNWAY ;#runway1; AT ;#taxiway1; VIA ;#taxiway2;#taxiway3;#taxiway4;#taxiway5;#taxiway6 The second option can be modified as follows (or you could add this as a third option) #airplane1; RUNWAY ;#runway1; AT ;#taxiway1; TAXI VIA ;#taxiway2;#taxiway3;#taxiway4;#taxiway5;#taxiway6 I've tested the modifications and they work. As always, it is recommended to backup the original if you decide to make custom edits. Craig
  19. OK, you may want to post in the SPEECH ISSUE thread if you want further assistance - especially from FeelThere.
  20. You've kinda hijacked your own thread (i.e., changed the subject) but I'll go ahead and give you a couple of suggestions since it looks like your Windows voice recognition is working. However, if you try them and they don't fix your problem then you need to post about your situation in the SPEECH ISSUE thread. 1) Make sure the status of your Windows voice recognition is "Off: Do not listen to anything I say" 2) Make sure to run tower3d.exe as admin Good luck, Craig
  21. Are you saying you couldn't launch the game as administrator or that it didn't fix your voice issue?
  22. Yep, that's why I made sure to specifically mention the FAA. Here's the thread where it was discussed before - sounds like the command is used in Australia. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/83253-tower3d-pro-line-up-and-wait-behind-next-landing-ac/
  23. Welcome to the forums. The immediate call for pushback after a gate arrival is not specific to Jet Blue or KJFK. I've seen it with other airlines and airports - I just consider it a "feature" of the sim. The taxi route A-K to 31L is a little confusing to me, so not sure I can shed any light. Craig
  24. There is not a plane or airport editor for Tower!3D Pro. These do exist, however, for Tower!2011 along with a sector editor for Tracon!2012. I'm not sure what your expectations are for airports but JFK, SAN, and ATL have been released thus far. Known to be in development are LAS, BOS, and PHX while SFO and an European airport have also been mentioned. FeelThere commented that they hope to release at least an airport a month beginning in September. That should give us a good inventory of airports by the time the next version of Tower is on the market. :) Craig
  25. If you are looking for realism then you should consider removing the command you reference in #2 from your repertoire, at least according to the FAA. Here's an excerpt from FAA's Air Traffic Organization Policy (JO 7110.65W) : 3−9−4. LINE UP AND WAIT (LUAW) a. The intent of LUAW is to position aircraft for an imminent departure. Authorize an aircraft to line up and wait, except as restricted in subpara g, when takeoff clearances cannot be issued because of traffic. Issue traffic information to any aircraft so authorized. Traffic information may be omitted when the traffic is another aircraft which has landed on or is taking off the runway and is clearly visible to the holding aircraft. Do not use conditional phrases such as “behind landing traffic” or “after the departing aircraft.”
