  1. I try to taxi them in request order but try to look at where they are at the terminal. If 2 A/C are near each other but not on adjacent gates I normally get the one closest to the runway to pushback first then clear the other to pushback. that way one is not taxiing behind the other A/C on pushback. It makes it a little quicker to get them moving. Also in the case of MCO, where there may be several P/B requests in one terminal but a loner in another terminal, I will get this one moving irrespective of its order in the queue to keep things moving. Kev
  2. Thanks Ariel I will wait patiently. Kev M
  3. Vic, The downunder natives are getting restless & there is a lot more of us now. (I will even include NZer's) . How about considering a YXXX airport. YSSY, YMML, or even YBBN. YSSY has been suggested before & has a fairly interesting runway arrangement, separate terminals and an ever increasing variety of operators. I believe there used to be a problem getting the OK to use non US airport graphics. Was that only for twr2011 or does it still apply, or have I got it wrong, again. Kev M
  4. Thanks guys, now if we had the AS Airbus liveries in pack 11 (SFO) we could slowly change the VX IATA code in the schedule over time to AS to simulate the repainting & even leave one of two as VX to simulate aircraft that have not gone through the repaint program. I worked for an airline that took over 2 yrs to repaint the fleet as they only did the repaint during major maintenance. It might add interest to have the odd one still in the old colours for a year or so. Something to think about. Kev M
  5. Well ranted. I agree. Having been with this "game" since 2011, I have seen a number of cynics come and go but if you look around the forum now, there is a steady number of what I would call "true supporters" of FT & ND & what Vic, Ariel & Gabor & don't forget the others who have produced airports as well, are trying to achieve. Kev M
  6. Mike, I am in Brissie also. I have been doing the tower thing since 2011. Very early. I have always purchased through ATC suite or feelthere via BMT micro, the distributors. I have had occasions where I have had to go back to BMT to refresh the download links. Like you, I though that of a weekend here you would not expect a reply until the next US work day. No, I have received replies from Barb on Sunday afternoon. Their service is good on that respect. Remember BMT micro is a large organisation supporting lots of software world wide. I guess it is in their interest to have weekend staff on duty to answer queries. Also always keep your download emails for future reference. YOU WILL NEED THEM. (sorry of the caps but trying to make a point). Get RT & RC & enjoy the sim. There is a lot of guys on the forum how are very helpful Kev M
  7. Thanks, I should have checked that. I haven't worked SFO for quite a while. Just for clarification, does a VX A320 flight pick up an Alaska livery or a Virgin America livery? Kev M

Ariel, All understood. I thought that might have been the case. I see that Sky King has updated the date by adding another post, but as you say, you don't want it clogged up with additional posts. This keeps the update info clean. Is it possible to put the info into another format, maybe pdf, or such, and attach it as an additional post to the sticky with perhaps the wording of "updater files updated to reflect new XXX airport or whatever the change is. That way the updater posts get a new date stamp. It would give a record of the updates via the posts date stamp. The .xxx updater info files can be downloaded/opened as we wish. Anybody got a better idea, plse put it in here. Kev M
  10. Vic, You can't go on vacation!! Who will we throw stones at while your away. I Guess Ariel will have to cop it while your away. Have a good one. You deserve it for putting up with us. KevM
  11. Quite a few have had this problem, including me. Sometimes the anti virus/anti malware strips the .exe file from the download during install. If the happens, turn off both or give and exception during the installation. Don't forget to turn them on again. Enjoy the game & there is some good info on the forum. Good helpful info is most appreciated. Kev M

Ariel, have a look at the date shown on the sticky for the current Version Sheet. On the right it still shows May 23. Unless you look at it regularly, you don't know it has been updated. In all the other posts, the latest updates also updates the date/time( if it is the same day). When you update the sheet can you please update the date on the right of the screen. Then we can immediately see if there is an update. The sheet is fully appreciated by all, but thus would be a good quick reference to go looking for an update. TA Kev M
  13. A quick note for the newbies on Real Traffic (RT) updates. The older guys will know this. When you update RT it updates the schedule files and terminal files for ALL the airports that you have installed. You loose any custom files that you have made. Most of us oldies, do have custom files of some description. There are 2 ways that you can use to get around this. 1. Move or rename any custom files to a safe area & put them back after the update or 2. Load the update to a remote area & manually move the schedule & terminal files for the new airport to the respective airport folder. Also make sure that you keep a good records and backups of any files changed for future reference (title, date etc.). This might seem an overkill but you would be surprised how often you need to refer back to older files if problems arise. Also ALWAYS KEEP the download information for future reference. YOU WILL NEED IT! at some time. Been caught before Kev M
  14. That's not a bad suggestion. I quite often hear the cmd to "XXX push back, tail facing North/South. This can be used in congested terminal areas, where a one direction flow is needed to keep arrivals & departures all flowing in the same direction. Kev M
  15. 1. Regarding the taxiway exits, in Tower 2011 & it seems to be a leftover in 3D, the A/C will always leave the runway towards the side with the most bays (gates). Therefore for anything going to cargo or GA you need to specify for the A/C to exit towards that direction. 2. I always put GA's & CGO A/c onto 18R or 36L to keep it easy to get rid of them after landing. After all the whole idea of ATC controllers is to get them OFF or ON safely & get rid of them to someone else ASAP. LOL. Kev M
  16. I agree with all said about SFO. A work around that I have found is to depart CRJ, A320's (generally small A/C) from 1L or 1R @ Twy Golf. If yr quick you can get them off between landings on the 28's. Forget it though if yr slow giving the T/O cmd or they "say again" or "negative". There isn't enough time to repeat the cmd. Kev M
  17. Braff123456, Craig is right. I remember now that I made up specific schedule files for many airports in 2011. I used the file name format of XXX schedule.txt to identify the individual files held in storage for reference. When moving them into the airport folders I dropped the XXX from the file name to make it schedule.txt. It is along time since I worked with 2011 so I forgot that point. Sorry for any confusion. Kev M
  18. Yes you can make schedules for Tower 2011. It is the same as making a schedule for tower 3D except that the file name is XXX schedule.txt where XXX is the IATA code for the airport. Don't forget to make sure the terminal.txt file has terminals allocated to all the airlines. This is in ICAO code format. Also check that all the airlines & airports are in the relative files. I use Excel to massage the data into the correct formats, then convert the info into a .txt file. Others may use different methods. Kev M
  19. Hi Aircraft landing on 26R are extremely slow vacating the runway & T/way A9. They slow down well before the turnoff & crawl to the taxiway. This makes it difficult for A/C following closely. In reality as this is a high speed turnoff it would be customary for the landing aircraft to maintain a suitable speed to allow a relatively fast exit from the runway. Can something be done to fix this. I believe it has been highlighted before but I don't know if it is in the fixit list. Kev M
  20. Vic, Gabor I the aircraft to RWY 26L at T/way B12 & they don't stop at the taxiway stop bar. They continue onto the runway. I gave a hold short command on one A/C & it continued onto the runway. Google earth show a stop bar with the stop side being on the entrance to the runway at B12. 2017 map. Also taxiways A7 & B9 show as closed with X markers both on google earth & airport maps. They work on the sim. Vic & Gabor, can these be put on the please fix list. Other than that & those others snags mentioned it is a good airport to control. Enjoying it. Kev M logs Attached output_log.txt speech.log
  21. Sorry guys, I found the 74E in the schedule. Kev M
  22. I Agree EDDM has been out for some time now. Nothing officially on the forum about it being released. Some information of problems etc. but it seems nothing real serious. Just the usual one where aircraft don't stop before entering the runway etc. also the usual RT files out of date. Sometimes I really wonder if ND really research the latest airline calls, operators etc. but to be fair having paid only a couple of dollars for RT some time ago, and no extra for on ongoing updates, I guess it is OK. The biggie is not knowing when something new or changes /SP etc. are released. C'mon Feelthere as others have said over & over again, PLEASE come up with a system of informing us when something changes. After all, when you trawl though the forum there are a core number of supporter out there who have done a lot of work to improve the sim with suggestions/fixes etc. Give us the support of advising of any new changes come out so we can be on top of what is happening. There!! I've said it Kev M

    SFO

Rick, Its always a good idea to go through the schedules & look for the 'foreign' operators in the schedule. Sometimes they are missing. In my original RT for SFO, QANTAS, Air New Zealand & Fiji Airways were missing. I have installed them into my schedule. Remember in most cases, the schedule published in the RT files are snapshots of a day so there may be flights that do not operate into an airport on that day, or overnight. The may show as arrivals but no departure or v.v. I check through them & and make sure all foreign flights have both an arrival & departure time. Also most of the schedule times are times that the flight operated, not actual published schedule times. e.g. a flight that scheduled to arrive on Monday only at 00:15, but runs early and arrives at 23:45 Sunday night, may not show in the schedule if the schedule captured was a snapshot of Monday. Like you I don't really care if I miss a few DAL's, AAL, VRD's etc. there is plenty of them to work. Sometimes it takes a bit of detective work to find all the odd bod flights that operate into an A/P. It all adds to the fun Kev M
