KLGA WILL NOT LOAD STUCK AT 63% Tower3D!PRO STEAM
crbascott replied to TKBuffalo's topic in ATC Simulators
You need to update your Real Traffic - looks like you are running sp6v3 at the latest - sp6v5 is current. Your klga_terminal.txt file needs updating. -

1L is 1000 feet shorter than 1R and each plane type has a different takeoff distance requirement. Plane type will determine what runways an airplane can or can't use for takeoff and landings. Bottom line, there is not an issue with the sim - this is just reality.
-
I checked your log file and it looks like in both cases (DAL401 and UAL400) you issued the command PUSHBACK APPROVED, EXPECT RUNWAY 1L. The pilots subsequently response with "unable to takeoff from this runway. The runway is too short for takeoff." Not sure if you heard or saw this message, but that is why the planes didn't move. You need to reissue the pushback command using a different runway. You can try 1R which is a little longer or you can use 28L or 28R which are used for heavy departures.

Buy Tower!2011 and you can create airports all day long.

J A KE B - that is an interesting taxi route. Is that used in real life - did you pick that up listening to ATC?

Same thing happened to me and I called them. Answered promptly and took care of my issue immediately.

@Ripskin The pilot AI in this sim is hands down better than AI I have seen in a major competitor. It's not perfect by any means, but it is the best there is at the moment IMO. In your example you mention KATL and I assume you are playing as a SP. Personally, I wouldn't touch this airport as a SP ... it can be near impossible as an MP - which I think is a more enjoyable and realistic way to play the sim. Sounds like you'd be a fan of progressive taxi which has been mentioned several times. I'm sure it will be on the wish list for the next version. Lastly, you mentioned general issues at some of the airports. If you provide specifics and include logs and screenshots there's a chance they could get fixed. If there's a bug, I'm not shy to report it. Right Vic @FeelThere? :)

The cross runway command has been asked for a zillion times. Until we get it in the next version, there is a "cheat" you can use to get an airplane to cross a runway without stopping. You can give it a HOLD SHORT OF TAXIWAY X where X is a taxiway after the runway. You can even choose to make X a taxiway not in the taxi route and the plane won't stop until it reaches the gate. You can also issue a HOLD SHORT OF RUNWAY command using the same "strategy".

@nrholland “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. Why keep posting pictures when you know a log file is needed? Did you follow @DeltaVII's instructions and copy the bat file into your Tower!3D Pro folder? When you ran the bat the file did it start tower? If yes to both, then it's time to stop the insanity.
-
@DeltaVII @B737max After being on the forum a few years I've learned a couple of things: If you have an issue that is not specifically related to the original topic (i.e., SAN issues), it needs to be posted in a separate topic If you want an issue to be addressed, include a log and/or screenshot.
-
Or just depart from N
-
FT needs you to post the log file in order to identify the exact gate.
-
My bad - I overlooked the "for KJFK" and "for KIAD". If you have Windows 10 you should have the Snipping Tool (which is what I use) or you can try Alt-PrtSc for a screenshot.
-
This is not an uncommon occurrence. The devs can change the plane type that can park at a gate if it is an issue. Share a screenshot and log file and it just might get fixed. Looking back at this thread, you've mentioned 3 airports - KSFO, KIAD, and KJFK. What sim are you playing?
-
You may need to change the security settings of the Tower!3D Pro folder and subfolders to allow modify/read/write permissions.

After reading comments on this forum/Steam and experiencing landing planes "slowing to a crawl" at KSFO impacting departure management, I thought I'd take a deeper dive and look at he plane speeds at various points in the landing process. I did a similar exercise about 4 months ago - https://forum.simflight.com/topic/84430-tower3d-pro-anatomy-of-a-landing. (1) Touch down - this is the point where altitude was zero and tilt was zero. All planes hit the same spot, but, obviously, at different speeds. In my test, the 753 was traveling at approximately 108 knots, 73G at 109 knots, CNJ at 107 knots, and E75 at 96 knots. (2) Slowed down to 44 knots - after touch down planes begin the slowdown process to 44 knots. This occurred at different points based on the plane type and landing speed. (3) Successful landing - after reaching 44 knots planes would travel a little further down the runway before the successful landing message was displayed. (4) Begin slowing down to 19 knots - planes would maintain 45-48 knots until it was time to slow down to taxiing speed (19 knots) in preparation to exit the runway. (5) At 19 knots - after reaching 19 knots planes would maintain this speed until exiting the taxiway and preparing to stop. The attached images demonstrate the above using T as the exit taxiway and J as the exit taxiway on 28L. In briefly testing landings on 28R I experienced similar results. 28R@Q was similar to 28L@T and 28R@T was similar to 28L@J. I don't see a FeelThere SP addressing this at any point in the near future so I think my strategy would be to exit planes at 28L@T and 28R@Q - especially when running the normal configuration of 1s as the primary departure runways and the 28s at the primary arrival runways. Craig Note - this test was conducted using Tower!3D Pro version 3.2d, RT version sp6v5, and the initial release of KSFO.

Custom (REAL) Traffic #5 -- KLAX ver 2.0!
crbascott replied to ATControl -- Joe's topic in ATC Simulators
The E75 has been added to real traffic, included in the KSFO schedule, and liveries were included in RC for KSFO. RC for other airports haven't changed - so it would be a waste of time to download them. However, if you have RC for KSFO any schedule that has the E75 for CP, OO, or QX will now have liveries. For the record, there was never a vanilla E75. The E75 didn't exist so what you really had was a vanilla default regional jet. -
In my "humble" opinion, if there are variations in real life then there should be variations included in real traffic and color. Agreed, a little QC is all that is needed.

The A320 neo has not been included in real traffic yet. The 737 max 8 is 7M8. You'll find the codes you need to use in the airplanes.txt file.

You're right - the 77L is in sp6v5 - my bad. Not sure how I got a version with the 772 instead of a 77L. I definitely didn't modify the file. Oh well! Wayne, if you want it fixed I'd suggest starting a new thread since we kinda hijacked this one. First time ever! ;)

Vic, Here's my log. At 72% the rain sound starts and the loading freezes. Craig game.log
